i30 N 2021 i30 N

That's fair enough but the same will be for any FWD car, takes some getting used to managing a FWD after owning a RWD. If you're after RWD then your options are getting more and more limited. The new M240i is probably the closest you can get now for New cars I think? and it won't be cheap. Although with BMW no doubt there will be massive savings available.

For a Yaris to be worth it you need the circuit pack which bumps the price up considerably. There's no discount available either and an 18 month wait so I'm able to get an i30N FL cheaper than a GR Yaris but if a few euros doesn't bother you and you don't need the practicality then get a Yaris, I know you won't regret it.

That's true afordable RWD are in extinction, I've tried the M140i and It was just a blast, but it was too quick, in a matter of seconds I would be in jail or without license 😂, Also it was very dull with the automatic and the lack of lsd and the poor chasis made it more for of a "GT" car than a violent hothatch (focus RS, Type R).

I also consider the GR86, but it will be even slower than my car and the rear seats are tiny like the GR yaris.

I think the big deal here are the upcoming GR corolla, 300hp 400nm 4x4... If Toyota sell it in Europe under 40k € it will be the ultimate machine I belive😄

Has there been any video comparing pre-FL and post-FL sound in the same conditions?

The GR Corolla does sound awesome. Excited to see what it's actually like.

I agree on the M140 and that's one of the reasons I let mine go after almost 4 years of ownership. Amazing engine dropped in to a standard chassis. Needs a lot of money put in to it to make it handle well. I had a manual version so at least it was a bit more engaging than the ZF.
I miss that engine so much, but the rest of it...nah.

Yeah the engine of the M140i is a masterpiece and the ZF8 very fast, but the lack of lsd is a real fail... Could you drift it a bite? Or just some powerslides like my Z4 does?
😄

The new i30N seems to produce a lot more power then quoted. Apparently it has the new turbo E0 version with some people say its good for 400hp. Would be interested in knowing what the Manual version power output is and if it gets the same turbo is the DCT.

I don’t excited by Toyota’s for some reason? The only one I’d love is the Supra, as for the rest, I find them ugly, I know the Yaris GR is epic, but it just looks weird too me, not a fan of the Corolla either, as for SUVs like the RAV4, well that’s an abomination, I just don’t understand why Toyota is so extremely popular??

Hmm, interesting. Dyno could lie a bit etc., but interesting, what would be more interesting to find out is the turbo spec, is that really different than before FL

It seems that people in Australia are finally getting the car. I've seen a Facebook post of someone who got it delivered from Ferntree Gully Hyundai. I'll call my dealer soon and I bet they'll have no idea.

I have a manual fl, in comparison to my old model it's noticeably quicker.

Like for me 5bhp of a difference shouldn't even be noticed so it's definitely running more power

Isn't that just the increased torque? FL is about 40Nm more torque which is what gives the feeling of speed.

It's not just increased torque, have a look over here if you are interested:
(1) Turbo upgrade from factory | Hyundai N-cars i30 N, i20 N, Veloster N, Kona N, Tuscon N Owners Club and Forum - N-cars.net

The e0 does have completely reconstructed internals and is quite a bit bigger than the one in the Pre-FL. This results in the car having more strength in the upper RPM range where the Pre-FL turbo had no chance

Precisely, the pre FL I had just fell off top end, FL just pulls and pulls

On a road I know really well I can top out the pre FL easily and feel comfortable, FL I had to back off

I’m in a real conundrum now, I wanted to get a new Fastback when they first announced the new i30N because I think it’s the better looking car, personally, but Hyundai Australia said it was being replaced by the i30N Sedan. Put a deposit on a hatch, got the call today my car will arrive August 17 and now Hyundai Oz say they’re bringing the Fastback down here after all, but only 500 of them. Do I stick with my Performance Blue Premium manual hatch or go the Shadow Grey manual Fastback? I need to decide quick!
