Check with @Maverick as he has posted some info on TPMS I believe. Aftermarket sensors come to mind. Can't recall reading anything about disabling the system though and I have been on this forum long enough to read plenty of posts. He may have posted something in German language though just to trick me. :cool::)

Spoke to my service guy at Hyundai, he checked and told me that the type of tpms used in the oem 19" wheels can be swapped between rims no problem, maybe that helps... hope he was right...
My understanding is, now tpms is obligatory by law in EU, so my guess is that the option to turn the system off will be less and less available...

That's true, but some new cars still have user-friendly TPMS system based on ABS sensors
 
By disabling I meant to do that myself in infotainment system or somewhere simular, not with a laptop done by the dealer.
If there is no option to do it myself then I'll buy the sensors anyway
 
I doubt that dealer (that normally will be willing to sell you 4 sensors for ~200 euros ;) ) will agree to do that, but personally I'd look for some garage / service that works on Korean cars and has appropriate service-computer
 
I've just went to my local tyre farmer and made me a good price for a set of winter tyres and wheels, including sensors.
I thought it was possible to disable it on the fly like lane assist, but seems this is not the case and will spend some extra cash for these sensors. Will drive some more in eco..........nah, lol!
 
Update on my 19" Bridgestone Weather Control A500. I've had them on for over 1000 miles now. Been through -6 to just below 20. Mild ice, deep water, and dry.

They're very comfortable, hold a line incredibly well in corners - no oversteer at all. The handle deep water very well, and feel very soft in the cold.

Not had them in snow yet, but so far they're proving to be a really great choice for the Scottish early winter. Plus I didn't have to buy new wheels and TPMS.

That's good to hear, I do like the look of them. What part of the world are you in?
 
The original TPMS sensors can be bought on E-bay for 98 euro (that's what I payed).
No fuss, no faults, get recognised within 2 km, so not really needed to go the aftermarket route imho, because there often occur problems.

Just to clarify for all other people, those TPMS sensors sold on ebay may be the exact same modules, may work exactly the same, but if there are problems for whatever reasons, there won't be any kind of support from Hyundai as they are not the original ones sold by them.
 
Just got my winter tires fitted. Nice 19” Vredestein Wintrac Pro. First impression is good, kept grip where obviously the Pirellis were losing it on some patches of ice.

Plus, made in the Netherlands, good for a Dutchy like me :p.

Not much lighter here. Did notice it with the Pirellis in cold weather, and on slippery patches obviously.

I orderd my wheels and tires yesterday.
Now the shop wrote me, i should check if they fit.
I think they do, but maybe someone of you can doublecheck this :D
