i30 N 2021 i30 N

Does anyone have any intel on the DCT regarding everyday usage? Is it reliable and smooth enough to commute comfortably and then, when want to - kick it and use its whole potential? The youtube reviews show only the high-performant usage of the DCT, so there's no answer to my questions so far.

The Veloster N reviews from the US have indicated that it is a very smooth transmission even at low speeds. I recall one saying that it basically feels like a torque converter, with almost imperceptible gear changes and no lurch or judder.

Once you slap it in N mode, the shifts are much sharper and more delineated. You also get a shove in the back with each upshift ("N Power Shift") with 90%+ throttle.

It sounds like it'll be a big upgrade over Hyundai's existing dry 7DCT, which is pretty rough under 15 km/h in traffic, and not very quick to shift.

But it also makes me nervous and undecided because I was set to get the MT version but now I'm struggling because there already is one with DCT that's ready to go - standing right in the showroom and doesn't have a buyer yet.

From my understanding (and don't quote me on it) the new 8 speed DCT is used in both the Palisade and Santa Fe and some KIA vehicles, but have no idea which variants.

From all the reviews I have seen, it's almost like a conventional auto at lower speeds, but when pushed is lightning fast! It is more refined than the current 7 speed DCT found on the i30 N-Line and Kona.

Hello,

planning to join the N club and getting a 2021 Hyundai I30 N dct version. I was quoted € 35k by the dealer with a panoramic roof and N seats. Delivery would be the end of May.
How are the prices in your countries?

Welcome, moved your question into this mahoosive existing thread where basically no official information is available but everyone can have a guess about things and generally get angry at Hyundai 😀 (joking guys).

Please have a good look through the forums and utilise the Search function 😉

This guy iritates the crap out of me. His voice, his delivery, his 'jokes', the weird flow of his videos and how they just drag on. Ugh. 😑

On topic however, good idea for a video. Just not 30 bloody minutes worth.
John is an acquired taste, and not for everyone. But he knows his stuff.

I think I've discovered a small cosmetic fault in the first batch of cars (picky, I know, but we're enthusiasts): the N Light logo for the driver's seat appears to be faded or improperly printed. The black and red stripes either side of the "N" look washed out.

I've seen this across three different cars listed in Poland and Switzerland now (blue, white and black cars), from different angles and in different lighting conditions. I've attached examples of both the driver and passenger seats for comparison.

Hoping it doesn't carry over to the first Australian builds!

I think there is just a transparent film to protect the logo from scratches

I'm hoping so! The fact it is consistently on the driver's side in each car I look at suggests it might be deliberate. Maybe the protective sticker was only applied to that side from the factory.

John is an acquired taste, and not for everyone. But he knows his stuff.

He lost me for good when he did a piece on piggy-back tuning solutions and the truck load of scare tactics he shoveled into it. Was far from a balanced argument.

I reckon it's just the light and the angle and/or the suggested protective film. Regardless, your keen eye for detail proves that you are obsessed, worthy of your presence on this forum and need this car NOW. I wish you a swift delivery, sir!

How are the prices in your countries?

In Spain I30N perf, Manual, no roof and bucket seats are 37k €. It's quite more, the pre facelift with Hyundai disounts were like 33-34k... 😔

In these pictures, the colour actually appears very different to reality.
Probably because of the flash.
I just saw an N-Line in sunset red. Although I am not a fan of red cars, i have to say it looks amazing! The rims fit perfectly to this color!

Yeah there is some kind of Filter on the pictures. Our N Line in Sunset looks completely different. Im also going for sunset Red i guess, its a great color for the car.

Wow thats expensive.

My order is:

Manual
Sunset Red
Assistance Package (Blind Spot Sensors)
N Bucket Seats
Navigationsystem

32.948,50€

But i work for a german hyundai dealer. Normal price would have been about 34.500€ in Germany for my config
