Finally, some marketing! Hyundai has released the first video in a seven-part series on the European Hyundai N model line-up.

The first episode centres on the development of European N models, explaining their history, philosophy, and strategy.

There will be two episodes dedicated to the i30 N facelift:

UK people.. I registered my interest last week on Hyundai’s website to test drive a new facelifted i30N.

I have just got a call from Johnson’s Hyundai saying that a demo car is doing the rounds and that my local dealership (Sutton Coldfield) has it this week. I have booked in to test drive on Saturday 🤞
Bad news all... got a follow up call from the dealership (not the call centre) and they said they don’t have one and don’t know when they will have one to demo. Also.. they aren’t even doing test drives for performance cars at the moment due to Covid protocols. Brilliant! Back to square one.

I'm hearing that allot, is this a Hyundai Australia or local dealer problem?
Hey look, I can only speak from personal experience. I'm in Darwin - there is only one dealer. The next closest one is 1500 km away in Alice Springs. I would make that trip (seriously, it's only a 10 hour drive in a straight line) if they had a reputation for good service but we're talking Central Desert and I'm not sure they know what an i30N is, nor do I believe anyone down there has one. Tyranny of living regional/remote.

There are mixed reports everywhere else - some dealers are awesome, some are horrid. If you're in an Eastern Seaboard capital city or close to one you will have a choice of dealer - do your research on their N customer satisfaction ratings on all social media platforms and Google and choose accordingly. And don't let the sour taste in my mouth influence you too much. But, by the same token, be wary of the support (or lack thereof) that you might get from Hyundai Australia if things go pear-shaped. That said, others have had positive experiences with them. I assume it has a fair bit to do with where I live.

I still can't believe the lack of reviews or PR for the FL. You would have thought Hyundai want to get it in the hands of popular reviewers to attract as much attention as possible just before it goes on sale.

Literally checking Youtube every other day. Autogefuel would usually have been able to get their hands on most cars by now.

I ordered mine in January, normally he was delivered in April. Now it may be June.

Not unexpected though is it Franksie? I was planning to call round other West Midlands dealers but I think I'd be wasting my time. I'll leave it a few more weeks or until I hear of other forum members getting DCT test drives.

DCT 2(!) Seconds faster 50 - 75mph? Thats huge!! 🤯 5.4 seems a bit slow for MT, can s.o. confirm this time pre facelift?
Yes, the difference is significant. My assumption is that there is a gear change with the MT. No matter how quick you can shift gears, it seems this is where DCT's shine.

My take is that if you are chasing times (track or straight line) DCT is the go. If you want sheer engagement, then 6MT. YMMV, re the 6MT.

Pre facelift can do it in 4 sec for the manual

Thanks, GazmaN for the info, I did find your post about the damage to your vehicle, I would be rather annoyed with the lack lustre response too. My local dealer services both Hyundai and Mazda and they have been serving my Mazda 3 for years. I haven’t had any seriously complaints to date. I am not as isolated as you, but I am over 3hours from Melbourne, so I find myself with only one service centre without having to drive hours...

BREAKING NEWS BREAKING NEWS BREAKING NEWS BREAKING NEWS

I have just received a call from my local N pusher and have been informed that my new FL i30N DCT is on the water, (vessel name withheld) currently located somewhere in the Mediterranean Sea. I am unsure where or when the vessel departed but if there are no delays, arrival in Melbourne, Australia should be sometime in early June.

Hyundai have been contacted for comment.... will be waiting (a long time) for a response!

Hnnnnng don't give me hope! 🤯 So the dealer was not able to advise which vessel it is on?

Please tell me? Or private message me? I would presume all of the preordered cars are on the same ship. :)
I am starting to think that the first cars must be heading to the east. My dealer advised me last week he was not expecting any cars until early July, for mid July delivery. These are all DCT's. My 6MT is not due until a couple of weeks later, even though he reckons my order went in before there stock order!
