Fairly reliable sources in Hyundai is telling me that the 2035 model of the i30N is coming out spring 2036. They do note that there are some uncertainties in the estimates, due to technical challenges encountered with the fusion drives.

Is it just me or does the DCT version not seem to have the same pops and bangs of the manual? seems to have more of a brrrp sound if that makes sense?

It will have it but not during acceleration. Pops and bang are only when you let go of a throttle and anti lag system activates. In case of DCT this will nothappen during upshift because there is no need for antilag system cos DCT is that fast.

So yes, it will have less pops due to better gearbox :|

I could argue if DTC is a "better gearbox" ;) . It is a different gearbox.

It's objectively better in any measurable way. It's only our very subjective opinion that we want less efficient, slower and much more difficult to operate type of gearbox ;)

Slower and more difficult is due to the technical ability of the operator ;)

will a DCT box shift quicker than a manual, with a much smoothed change? Yes.

But is it 'better' at being a more involving, controllable, fun way of driving? I think not.

This discussion has been ongoing for a while on here, and it always boils down to personal preference! Everyone's opinion is different and not one person's is more credible than the other on this subject.

Exactly, but better means that something has better performance. Fun in subjective matter. You can’t say that blue is better then green. You like blue better then green just as we all like manual gearbox. ;)

I have driven DSG hot hatchbacks, yes they are quicker and far far more comfy to drive on a daily base. But more sporty or involving? No way, it can't beat a manual in that perspective. :)

All comes down on what you are looking for. :)

I think the best thing they could do with a new N is to put it on a diet, it weighs around 200kgs more than a Peugeot 308 gti, imagine how quick and agile an N would be a100 or so kilos less. it doesn't really need more power although obviously that helps, I mean it's not the most economical car as it is, some on here say they are only getting 22 mpg average more power and we would be talking 20 mpg or less a scary prospect, no a lighter N is in my opinion what they should be aiming for.
I definitely agree. If the new Ns gain weight, which, if all the new options are included, I don't see why it wouldn't, it seems like 1 step forward 2 steps backward.
