The Forge FMIC retains utilization of the federal mandated NHTSA, 5 mph, low speed, impact bumper. California residents, be especially aware of this requirement;

How's the finish on the intercooler?
Been a few reports in the UK that it's not the most robust and the intercoolers are looking pretty tatty already.

Great, as far as I can see. Even, thick and adheres well. I can't scratch it off with a metal file with light to medium pressure. Recoating or touching up will be simple process, in the course of regular maintenance.
Also, being constructed of aluminum, it's non-issue.

Please let us know if it fits without any trimming! Been going between this and the SXTH intercooler. I know SXTHs fits without any modifications so I'm excited to see how this addition is for you?
There will be no trimming for it to fit.
The SXTH FMIC requires the fitment of their support, and it won't work without it, Theirs completely eliminates the federally mandated NHTSA, (5 mph, low speed, impact bumper), as I specified above. The Forge Motorsports FMIC retains it. This is just one of the reasons I didn't opt for it.
You might get away with it in a state that doesn't require and annual inspection but it's part of the federal and state safety equipment requirements. Also, it's part of the OEM Hyundai safety equipment, for the car to meet NHTSA regulations to be sold in the US.
It's an additional support structure for the; "front end module, carrier assembly and subframe."
If you start modifying the basic front sub frame structure, you lose some front end rigidity. This subframe supports the front suspension components as well. Hyundai designed it everything for a purpose. I'm not going to start modifying it either. No problem with making it stronger but not at the cost of making it lighter and weaker. If I want to make it lighter, I'll use a hole saw cut symmetrical holes and still maintain the same structure integrity and rigidity.
I'm suspect of their cross member. It's not a carrier like the OEM designed unit, capable of sustaining low impact hits, as it doesn't have the absorbers built in. It's not going to maintaining the same OEM structural integrity or rigidity IMO. Not going to cause a problem, to upgrade a part.

Upgraded throttle body arrived from MaxBore. It was enlarged from 60mm - 64mm. New larger butterfly, TB shaft machining with low profile screws and matching gasket.
Also, a bored throttle Boomba throttle spacer to match.

Now, I have some mirror polishing to do to the inlet and behind the butterfly. Promotes smooth clean flow.

So no trimming required for the FORGE FMIC? On the Forge website it says you still might be required to trim the inside of the bumper for the Veloster NThere will be no trimming for it to fit.

The old intercooler is on their website no? This is a redesign
No trimming required with the new design. It will be available shortly.
