Sound Upgrade

I read a lot about sound upgrades here but I'm asking only for the subwoofer for now.
Most of people here did all sound upgrades at once.
I'm just looking for owner of this pioneer subwoofer - is there any extra paper manual with it.
I read that subwoofer only should be easy to connect - cut the chinch cable and connect it to the sound system cables.
If that is true - it is worth to try.

If you know the model number of the sub you should be able to download the installation manual. It's only power, and left and right channels you need to tap into.
 
Another simply question.
According to the instruction from hyundai to their subwoofer I need to cut two plugs of the included cinch cables and connect bare cables to the oem radio.
Can I just buy two cinch length extensions and cut their plugs instead of cutting original subwoofer cable ?
Any advices of cinch length extensions ? Good name, company, type ?

Subwoofer looks good but I need to buy cinch cables now.
On the left - parrot cable for i30 2017+. Maybe it will help my electrician to connect it without cutting cables.
 
You can tap into the connectors in the footwells, behind the kick plate. You need to access both sides. I posted the method earlier on in this thread.

So....If I will only connect subwoofer and still will use oem speakers it is better to remove only two footwells on both sides of the car and connect there 4 cables 2+2 ?

1+2 black to one side and 1+2 red to other side of the car ?

I bought 5m extension and two sockets with screws to not cut original pioneer subwoofer cable.
Now I need to wait few days for my ordered forge parts and then time for install all things at once.

Whats everyones best methods for tapping into existing wires?

I'm planning to tap my sub into existing L/R speaker wire connections (obviously) but utilise the wiring loom supplied with my amp rather than fiddle with OEM looms in the kick panels.

Scotchloks, Posi-taps etc etc. I know strip and solder is best connection but really don't want to be doing that......

Strip and solder and heatshrink. Every other method is a horrible bodge.

No it doesn't fit, its designed to go in the passenger footwell but I do not like that either :rolleyes:
Going to try it directly behind the rear seat taking the power from the 12v in the boot. The sub/amp has adjustable gain and I'm not looking for Ali G levels of rudeboi-ness but hopefully it'll stll make a difference.

I'll update once I eventually connect the thing up

The Pioneer amp started acting up - the FR speaker would start working later and later after startup until it stopped working altogether...
Will see if Hyundaizubehoer warranty works...

Hooked up the Pioneer speakers directly to the headunit - sounds like crap without the amp, dull and flat.

He's right. 99% of the electrical fires in cars are due to "quick" connections with some tape on top.
Take your time and do it properly.

Now, if you still want to do some 'tests' or live on the edge ( :p ), I would recommend something like this :
Electrical connectors
I neve used them on a car but in other applications, they seem to snag firmly on the existing cable and then you can just plug in the new one you want to connect. Wiggled the s**t out of them and keep holding tight. Another plus, is that you can remove the extra cable and keep them on in case you need to do disconnections.
