Kamyk's i30N PB Performance Pack

Another bad day after another car year service in hyundai.
I have a oil leak but don't know from where. Service guys say it is oil sweating. They didn't find the place of the leak too.
Only thing I know for now - it is small leak, maybe head gasket. This leak is from somewhere above of the oil pan.
I was under the car and when looking to the front - left side of the oil pan was oiled and wet like something dripped from above on it. No visible stains/stream of oil from above. Only half of the oil pan was wet. The oil level was normal.
For now they washed everything, told me to drive some and back for check again.

Another bad thing - something is wrong with my open intake pipercross filter.
I saw that the filter from the air inlet side was weird. When I touched it - it started to crumble and turn into black powder.
I dismantled it and started to clean it but it still crumbled some more. I have it from january 2024.
Then I started to check it from all sides - the problem was only from air inlet side.
All other sides of the filter are still good - much more plastic foam without crumbling.
To be 100% sure that filter still working I checked it inside and then the inlet pipe walls and turbo blades - they are ok - no dirt.
Just in case I ordered replacement piece.
I think the problem is with water (rain), small stones and bigger dirt with insects hitting the side of the filter from the front of the car with high speed. In my case I have Velossa Tech Air Intake Snorkel so all of the water/dirt hitting directly this side of the filter. If you guys have this pipercross open intake - better check yours.

Here are two pictures of the filter - look at the right side after cleaning - this wall is not straight but recessed inwards and the foam is more torn.pip1.jpgpip2.jpg
After those bad news I'm waiting for new filter and oil leak check after few days.

I ordered and received new front brake covers because mine are scratched and starting to crack - well known problem.

And I installed front mesh grill from Zunsport.

Because it is good to protect against rocks I ordered front side grilles too.

Two additional front side grilles from Zunsport installed:

I'm still waiting to mount front brake covers, new exhaust spring and check oil leak...

Hello guys after a long time.
If you remember - on may I found small oil leak from the engine so here I am again to told you something about this problem.
After few months I have made a decision to take care of it. I received bad news after longer checking - cylinder head gasket is starting to leak - not much but after cleaning - problem returned.
There was no oil level decrease on the oil dipstick, no coolant level decrase and no weird smoke from the exhaust.
To sum up - it was only beginning of the head gasket problem but nobody could estimate when the problem would occur for real. I didn't want to ride like this and hope that everything will be fine.
Car went for head gasker repair. Engine removed, cylinder head resurfacing, everything inside and outside cleaned, all new gaskets, all new bolts and nuts, new oil, coolant, brake fluid, filters.....everything.
I told my mechanican to check everything twice and told me what to chanage "just in case" because the engine is opened.
So.....the list of the parts goes really long.
Bigger parts are - belts, water pump, timing chain, tensioners, chain guides and a lot of smaller parts connected to those bigger.
So the problem was head gasket but I told them - lets do it once and for all properly.
For example - problem with water pump is known here on the forum (I didn't have it yet but the mechanic felt resistance in the bearing ) , rubber belts - it is worth to change them after 8 years, chain - just in case because it wasn't too expensive.
Summarizing the entire repair - it was long (almost one month) and expensive (about 4500 euro but almost 2700 euro was labor....). Price of the labor increased for last few years more than twice. I remember when 1 hours of work cost below 50 euro but now it is 108 euro.
At this moment - car is ready and working. For now I'm driving like it was new - slow and max 3000 rpm (breaking in and settling in process).
At the end of the month I will change oil and filter again after about 800-1000km (now I have only 400km after repair) and car will be fully usable.
I did some smaller upgrades - catalyst shielding (bacause it was partially uncovered) and new winter tires from michelin.

Here is the photo of catalyst before:

And here is the catalyst with custom heat cover:

If someone will say - my god so expensive repair - I will answer - yes it was but this car will stay with me for as long as it can.
I'm not a guy who is changing the car like other people gloves or socks .
I hope I will have some peace of mind for a few years after this repair.
