Small, expensive but great looking gadget - limited to 2500pcs edition of i30N PFL 1:18:
It is really big, heavy and nice interior and exterior details.
About 26cm x 12cm x 8cm.
Small visual mod of the engine bay: wst-carbon pipercross cover installed.
Because their mounting idea was hmmm bad (foams/sponges and glued angle bracket) - I used some of mine rubber seals. It will be much better and easier to take the cover off if necessary.
I'm still alive.
Next hyundai service (7th year).
Car is still perfect and this time - like every year - fresh oil , oil filter and wipers.
Alloys went for painting again and this time with red stripe made with 3d printer/painter (before it was rubber rim protector).
After a long time it was time for new tires - Pirelli made a room for Continental SC7 2025.
Stupid and totally crazy day.....
Today I was appointed for a summer-winter tires set change and to check rear brakes because after winter I saw one of the brake pads jagged/chipped.
I will not say anything else - just look at this disaster.
My fresh summer tire from may 2025......
And my 2 years old rear brake pad......
This is not jagged/chipped pad - this is second pad on other side of the car......cracked in half.
My brakes were hmmm quite fresh - mounted end of april 2024 and mileage with them was really really low (few thousands of km only). I had only two problems with them. First one was in the fall of last year - my car stand for two or three days in everyday heavy rain without move on handbrake. Next day brakes were stuck. After few minutes of trying to move they let go but after moving the car I can hear weird sound when tires started to rotate (knocking every full rotate). I started to pump the brakes and go-brake-go-brake few times.
Problem was gone. One of my friends after hearing from me about this situation saw one of the brake pads was chipped on the corner. Second problem was in the end of march this year. My car was after car wash and stand for two days in the garage on handbrake. I tried to move the car outside but all tires were stuck. After some time car moved outside the garage but rear brakes were still stuck. I burned front tires trying to move and even burn the clutch some trying hard.
About 30 minuters and nothing. Rear was still stuck so I started big fight and I used WD40 - yes I know - don't use it on brakes because it is oil......but it helped. After rear brakes were free - next fight started - remove WD40 using a lot of isopropanol to clean the brakes really good. Next day I bought additional brake cleaner and used it on all brakes.
There were no problem when ride - the only thing was weird - mark on the one of the rear brake disc - about 1cm rusty border.
So....I decided to check the brakes on my tires set change and.....thats how I found this problem.
About screw inside the tire - no idea how it happened. Those were fresh (may 2025) tires and they were packed like this to the tires bags by hyundai service....I cleaned them (alloys) few days ago and I didn't saw that screw. Even the air was still inside.
damn if the car is stationary so long maybe its better to just block it rolling off instead of using handbreak, i notice the handbreak when its wet or in winter especially when i park it in my garage, its terrible and always stuck.
So what i do now is not use it ever unless i park somewhere in the city for a short while.
