Thats what i heard yesterday. We were at a meeting yesterday. On the way, I drove behind my mechanics N. He was in normal Mode and shifting with load. His car bangs sometimes in normal mode.
 
A guy from Hyundai? Any info how that comes?
As it´s electronic generated it cant be random...
Maybe it is depending on the different engine control Units, old one banging as hell, new one not that much any more?

Hello Kasi, I didn't change a thing because for the last 6 weeks I have been driving basically nothing. Due to work and other things only my girlfriend has been driving and she does it always in ECO or Normal. And according to her "no farts" have been heard. So I have the exact same case as you do. Only in N, and only with the red shiflights on and not even very loud. On the other hand, the barble it does on idle in Normal is amazing. BTW, she made a big scratch while parking. My heart is broken... :(

I will go on holidays for 3 weeks in july driving across europe and will make a decision after that.
 
How hard do you guys have to rev to get the exhaust to pop? mine seems to do it anywhere from 4500 upwards,

I swear i've seen someone saying that they were able to do this at 15mph??? the slowest I can get to make it pop is 30mph, is anyone else able to make it pop at such a low speed?

Whatever 4000 rpm in 1st gear is in MPH is what the cracks will appear at. Unless you coast and nail the throttle of course.

If you press tha clutch you can do it while parking too ;)

haha, i had my car for 3 Hours. First time parking it at home and my neighbour complaint instantly about the noise:)
But i have to say it is really loud when standing. It even seems louder than the demo car i drove.
In Normal/eco Mode it should be not that loud while standing or reversing...cant hear a difference to N Mode. While driving its pretty "silent" in Normal/Eco. Any idea why the valve is open while standing/reversing? Is it because of a technical background?
My neighbours gonna love me :p:cool:

I leave for work ~6:30 and my garage is directly under somebody's flat... Looks like they are up for that Jurassic Park t-rex water cup detector wakeup every day for years but they don't know yet...

I honestly didn't think the exhaust was very loud on this, and I still don't...but first time I've seen my neighbour and she made a comment about it, not complaining just that she had 'heard' I got a new car with a smile on her face. Doesn't help that our driveway is between two houses, so it reverberates quite nicely. I think it makes them laugh that it's my car.

Probably too late for you but in case anyone else ever searches I tried to find a very similar answer before I bought mine. I couldn't find any suitable videos of any exhaust noise other than people revving the hell out of it in N mode for giggles.:p

This was a worry of mine as where the car is parked is right outside our toddlers room and I often leave stupidly early. It's not woke him up but as other has said; yes, it is loud and people will hear you coming a little but it's a much nicer tone (when not in N) than your standard after market job. We're on good terms with all our neighbours and I've asked them (trust me, they would say; we have a laugh) if it's annoyingly loud and they've all said it's fine.

When it goes down the side of our house on the drive, it echos against the walls too; still not loud to the point of being annoying or disruptive IMO but I always flip it to ECO on start just in-case if it's early (although I think it's the same noise as Standard?).

My Mrs always bemoaned a guy down our road that had a really loud after market on a Integra Type-R, it's nothing like that and she loves the N now :)

So as we have really high ambient temperatures here right now (35 - 38 degree) it seems like exhaust sound is much quieter.

The last weeks have been about 30-31 degree and the pop´s have been louder I think.

I know that hot air can´t be compressed as good as cold air, but is that something that would influence the exhaust sound, as the bang´s are generated by igniting nebulized fuel?

I can't say much about the pops and bangs, because I don't do them every day. What I've noticed (or what I thought) when Ambient temperature is above 31 degrees, the exhaust sounds a bit louder. Below it's only loud. But no difference when engine / oil on 90 degrees. Except it's really cold outside.
