Another small update. Installed the Canchecked display and got my new rear silencer.

Canchecked Gen2 Display

Super late to the party with this one :D
Got mine as one of the first ones in Germany (installed it roughly a month ago).
In the meantime there is an updated version published (see the thread of @kamyk155) but I have the same version as @WoLf130.

The Canchecked is mounted in a ventilation grille and connected to the obd port via a specific cable.
Mounting it is super simple although they did not have an installation manual at the time.

There is a i30N-specific firmware installed on the display so it is able to read the correct PID values via OBD. The display is one of few if not the only one currently on the market for the i30N that is able to display and log the oil temperature.

All in all I am super happy with it and I am planning to add a few external sensors to it when I get my turbo upgrade done.

You are able to customize the view as you like, there is an additional software available to give you all the customization options that you like. I already did a custom view with the N logo included :D

To mention a few things I do not like:
- the auto-dimming feature of the display does not work currently (I am in talks with canchecked to get this resolved)
- CEL error clearing via obd does not work (EDIT: resolved with latest firmware)

Updated rear silencer

As you may have read in one of my previous posts, I was a bit unhappy with how "loud" my new exhaust system was when driving on the german Autobahn with the exhaust valve closed. Happily my exhaust was custom built, so no issues fixing this ;)

Got a new rear silencer and now my car sounds like an electric one when the valve is closed :D
No worries, still plenty of awesomeness when the valve is open ;)
Here are the old and new version of the rear silencer compared, so you can get an idea.

With this last change I can finally consider the exhaust chapter of my journey completed. Time to focus on the intake with the airbox and some brakes. Afterwards its time for some turbo fun ;)

After seeing this Canchecked display mounted in your car I feel like I should perhaps get one myself... Did you get the mount custom made or did you 3D-print it yourself?

Airbox is making some progress. Have to go back to the drawing board with the lid though, it does not fit by a few mm with the bonnet closed :D

Also found a mishap with my current turbo. Seems my airfilter was not sealing correctly :/
Its only the blades that are f*ed up. The play of the bearings is still in pristine condition.
But not a super bad thing, already have the TTE turbo on order :D

Short update before this year's last trackday on Monday at the Bilster Berg. Did the installation a few weeks back already, just forgot to post it :)

Got my Takata Harness for the Driver's side installed.
Will definitely upgrade the seats now. Just now sure which ones yet. Need to do a bit of testing to see if I fit in the Recaro PP. The harness is great, when you drive with it on it's like driving another car that has 50hp more :D Everything is super direct and no longer sliding out of the seat in sharp corners - love it.

Another not so pleasant experience with the Brembo OEM brake replacements. The discs are too small. Instead of 345 I got 330 discs... No comment here. No idea whether that's just Brembo not knowing how to measure stuff or... The site I bought them from even lists them as 330 discs. No comment. Never again.
This is how the Brembo pads looked like after 1 Trackday and roughly 10k kms. Over half gone already. The lip is there because of the wrong disc sizing...

This time I went with the NEXD pads, and I can already feel a big difference on the road. No squeaking and waaaay better braking power already, especially in the wet. Am super curious how they'll perform on-track.
Will switch to DBA discs and a new set of NEXD pads over the winter, since the Brembo disc is too small, my current pads will be unusable on another disc...

Also made a date with my buddy Markus from MTTuning for Mid-October for my Stage 3. The TTE466 is already with a guy who does proper integral insulation for the turbine-housing and the manifold. Should drop the engine bay temps by quite a bit, I hope. The holes for the EGT-Sensors are already in as well, have to do a bit of playing around with the CanChecked so it can display the sensor data.

Started work on my Gen2-Oversized-And-Unnecessary-But-Totally-Cool-Airbox.
The new version features enhanced airguides to protect the airfilter from collecting too much dirt.
Also started work on an OEM+ Airbox that re-uses the OEM airbox-lid. It just has space for a bigger filter and the filter is not wedged it but connected directly to the airpipe. So, no dust/dirt can get in.

---

As you can see, I'm quite busy :D

The Discs with Ø330 are only for the Non-Performance
good to know. Issue is the site I bought from lists them as a direct swap-over for the performance version. So maybe it's not Brembo but the site - either way, not going that route ever again since the sizing of the discs was the smallest issue I had with that setup

Where did you put the side supports of the harness?

Fresh back from Markus aka. MTTuning.

Results:
Power: 367,8 ps (362,7 bhp)
Torque: 450NM (477NM corrected because of the dyno-losses)

Insta Post with details:

The car runs amazing with that tune. Although not the peak performance some of you may expect, I really like it this way!
Main goal was durability and drivability. Since I am running ROZ100 gas there was no need to go all out.
And as expected the ignition was the limiting factor. Thats why we are running a bit more boost down low to counter the low ignition.

Goal was to have the torque not too aggressive down low so I could still drive the car properly on track.

100-200kph times obviously are now also better. Down from 16s to roughly 11.6s. Haven't yet fully tried my best because of poor conditions on my drive home:

We've adjusted the EGT-Model according to what my sensor setup showed. Here and there a bit richer but all in all it was good out of the box.

Markus also widened the Forge inlet to the correct sizing for the TTE466.

Here's everything he installed:
- TTE466
- HMSG HPFP
- MTTuning Stage 1 Kevlar Clutch with OEM Dual mass flywheel
- MR45XLZ Sparkplugs

That means no more excuses on the next track day for poor lap times due to your "lack of power", I suppose? 😜
