I would suggest that Hyundee wish to launch at the same time in all markets.
It seems that way, which is unusual. Typically Australia is lucky last with car releases (often a 6-12 month wait compared to Europe). Our cars should be here next month. Nice to be part of the launch party for once!

Hey Fellows,

I was just able to drive the DCT hatch.
I was pretty sure I would get the manual. Now I am actually tending for the DCT.
Pretty much the best DCT i've been driving so far. Absolutely way better than the VW DCT in my opinion.
It responds very fast and switches gears quite smoothly.
I like the facelift way better than the pre facelift.
The only thing i am still concerned about is the longevity of the dct, as i am driving a lot through cities as well.

Here are some pics. The performance blue comes out really nice (was never a fan of the colour before).

One thing I'd like to mention: with my 180cm height my head hits the ceiling in the backseat of the fastback.
I know it's about the backseat, but...
197 cm here - I just purchased a fastback and am waiting for the documents to be ready for this car. Although I think that I sit a bit too high (at least in comparison to my previous non-sporty cars), there's no big difference (if there is any) between hatchback and fastback in terms of driver's headroom. I'd just suggest the N buckets for tall drivers.
And, for the record, I also went with DCT, :p but I had thought that the manual would be my choice for quite long time.

Awesome pics!!

By the way, what are your impressions?

Is much faster in gear than previous one?
Better exhaust sound?
The suspensions is comfortable in normal mode? 😁

I can't wait to try one!

I can accept the front, but the back is awful in my opinion.
And what is with those not LED blinkers and reverse lights? Even on the PFL that's not acceptable.

As I mentioned, i really like the DCT now!
The torque band seems to be applyed way better now. The car feels quite a lot faster to me. At the beginning i was curious if the i30N was the right car for me. I was not really convinced by the acceleration after driving the pre facelift model. Now I am!

The exhaust sounds seems to be even better as well. Hard to tell without a head to head comparison.
I was actually afraid the exhaust would be popping constantly but you actually can control it by switching the settings.

I will go for a ride with the Project C next week to decide whether I get a DCT or the manual. This way I could let you know about my impressions about the sound comparison.

I drove it mostly on sport mode. I switched to comfort suspension for a short distance and it felt fine (not a Jeep but comfy enough!).

Has anyone tested the N Light Seats and if so, can you compare it to the ProjectC seats?
I sat inside the ProjectC today andI was actually kind of dissapointed by the lateral support of the back rest. I think I liked the cback rest of the comfort seats better.
The support if the bottom part was amazing, though!

It has heated power seats with Luxury... and it *should* have wireless AA/CP. It has Bluelink, and I think it's the same head unit as in regular i30, that has wireless AA/CP. I'm gonna contact my dealer and ask him to check that.
So I've done some research about that, called my dealership, confirmed it by checking manuals for all the head units available, and the situation is absolutely ridiculous.

i30 N Performance will NOT have wireless Android Auto, because it ships with the 10,25" navigation head unit as standard equipment. The non-Performance trim might get the wireless Android Auto, because it ships with the 8" radio. Yes. You pay more for WORSE equipment! Unless you care for the built-in nav, which - as far as I know - nobody in the world does.

My dealership claims that the 10,25" version has no wireless AA/CP because "the built-in navigation uses a built-in SIM card, so it's online, so I don't need Android Auto after all!", but it sounds like the license issue might be true after all and there's some conflict regarding the Hyundai navigation being always default. What I have confirmed as well is that the 10,25" head unit has both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, so technically there is nothing stopping Hyundai from enabling wireless connectivity with later updates.

I am also looking into sideloading it on the head unit - if you can do it with crap Chinese Android head units, you should probably be able to do the same here as long as sideloading anything will be possible.

All in all, after first learning about no active cruise control and now this, I am pretty pissed and I'm currently re-checking the equipment list to see if nothing else I expected will be missing.

Thanks a lot mate!
So, the facelift tick even more boxes, billiant! 👌😜

Front and Rear kinda grow on me.
I'm also biased, because the old fastback looks great. the new fastback also looks great. Kinda Mexican standoff.
If it's noo too expensive I might give the DCT a shot. Will trest drive the DCT in 2 weeks.

What would I give for a Hyundai DCT performance review 10 years in the future.
I've driven my cars until they gave up, save for my last car, wich I changed to the N.
Never needed a clutch replacement.
Never drove unnecessarily "hard".

The N brings joy.
You can slap it. It goes. Hard. Until like ~ 140 Km/h. Wich is all you need. Still can fit 4 crates of beer and some extra in the trunk. While having 2 kids in the back, and yor wife on the passenger seat.

The N has been great.

The last year was special for almost all of us.
Ive driven like 6000km, wich is nothing.

There are some things that I dislike:
The wheelhop.
On my Michellin Alpine 4S i got wheelspin on slopes slight upwards in 3rd at 3000 rpm in the dry.

The gearbox (MY19) can be a bitch. If you slap it like a bitch, it's great however.

If the DCT is durable, Hyundai might have done something spectacular.
