The question isn't really about options per se, but why there are different specifications in different markets if H is trying to standardise the product. Why is it possible to offer a pano roof in Australia but not in Europe?
They offer pano in germany 🤔

You remember that your steering wheel is on the right side, there are way less countries with this "limitation", maybe they do more Standard so nothing will be left AT the dealer :p because german cars could be sold else where

Yes Leeds Hyundai offered me a very poor deal so got what I think was a good deal from Worcester which included free gap insurance free wheel and tyre insurance and free supagaurd not that I would have paid for them anyway.
Glad it wasn't just me who got a bit of a poor deal from them; was hard enough to get the test drive sorted as I gave them all details via email (Including my age) and when I showed up they stated they couldn't offer me a test drive as I was under 25. I just stated I had given all my details before I committed to going to the dealership and got my test-drive then..

Just been for a test drive. Although I've ordered a manual it was the DCT I drove as that's all they had. Absolutely loved it.
In normal mode the suspension is perfectly usable - even the Wife said it was nice and she complains again everything. She was impressed!

The thing that shocked us was how much extra space in the back the N Light Seats give you. In my driving position I was able to easily sit in the back (I'm 6'1") where-as the standard seats I was a bit squished. I did really want the memory function too but the space and comfort of the N Light Seats trumps memory function.

Another thing I noticed is if you have the key the wing mirrors unfold when you approach the side of the key and fold again if you walk away. Really nice touch. Just frustrating that there's no speed limiter 🙄

Ohhhhhh that little quirk really annoyed me with my pre-facelift 😂 😂
Only because my previous car would only open the mirrors when I unlocked it so everytime I walked up to i30 I'd instinctively attempt to open the door thinking the car was open 😂 Its just my broken brain more than anything else haha

Haha. I can see how it would be annoying. I thought it was faulty or someone messing with me until I saw what was happening.

Can anyone confirm if the car has metal paddle shifters in Europe? This article from PistonHeads claims they are, but they were definitely plastic (not cold to the touch and flexed a bit) when I sat in the car here in Australia.

Does anyone have or have seen any picture of the FL fastback in white? Having hard time to find any picture online of ‘21 fastback in white and wondering how it looks overall with the new (black) rims and new headlights.

I’m having mixed thoughts at the moment. On one hand I can have a 2 year 30k km pre-FL fastback in white for 24k EUR on the other hand I can go and order brand new FL with DCT for 37k EUR

Price difference is significant, but then again, the car is brand new, thus I’m trying to justify for myself this decission.

For one, I think I do prefer DCT and new N seats seems to be of better material quality, forged wheels and their design looks good too. On the downside, not sure I do like the new headlights and the grill.

As stated, I would prefer to buy a brand new car, but having hard time to justify the price difference. Any thoughts on this matter?

have you driven both the FL DCT and the Pre-FL?
I would go with the Pre-FL all day long. Good price, relatively low mileage, 3yrs of warranty left.
Wheels can be swapped ;)
The seats may be a downside, the DCT as well. But is it a 13k € downside?

Thats what you have to decide for yourself. If you find something thats a definite no-go on the Pre-FL, wait for the FL. But if you think you can live with it, I'd take the Pre-FL all day long. Just my 2 cents...

I have driven both. DCT is nice and FL exhaust seems to be a lot louder, actually to the point where I question if with pre-FL I’m looking at everything is fine.

Well, I’m trying to battle common sense here and find the reason to order a brand new car, like maybe there is something that would justify this otherwise stupid financial decision :)

So close….arranged to finally see my car tomorrow, to be cancelled today for a 5 day lockdown….i might get to buy the car at some point😢

Test drove a MK7.5 Golf R and the i30N DCT on Saturday back to back.

The Golf is extremely refined but almost too refined, you dont feel the speed and its just too effortless! I also noticed that the front end of the golf felt rather heavy when coasting/braking into a bend at high speed, felt great out of the bend with the 4 wheel drive system but I dont think it has anything on the i30N, the N feels quicker even if it may not be, the kick you get with the N grin shift just adds to the feeling, the car definitely put a grin on my face! The steering on the N also feels more responsive and weighty, the Golf R has a sort of progressive steering that gets heavier which just felt really fake.

Quality wise, yes the golf is nicer and although the N is plasticy for the money, it does feel solid and well put together, no creaking plastic door grab handles like in the golf! In terms of suspension, they both felt just as smooth to drive, the N felt smoother in normal mode than my MK8 Fiesta ST, the DCT in the N was also smoother in normal mode than the R, it would change up to 8th without me even feeling it change and it was faster to respond in both automatic and manual mode! The automatic handbrake was a really nice feature in the R but its something I can live without!

Anyway I went back to the Hyundai dealership after test driving the golf and decided to place an order on a DCT with the N light Seats. Fun factor and the noise of the exhaust is what done it for me, I'm 21 so the N is perfect for me! It may not look as classy as the VW but people who know their cars and have driven both will know just like I did from test driving them both, that the N is a better "hot" hatch, just wish the N was closer to 30 grand as the decision would be an absolute no brainer then!

Seem like plastic but ok

But @itsauu will not lose the full value, and neither will the two cars be worth the same at the end of his ownership. The 37k car might be worth 30k in 2 years time while the 24k car might be worth 20k. So the price differential during the ownership term is 7k - 4k = 3k. A far more palatable proposition. (All values made up, YMMV, past performance is no indicator of future values, etc.)

Sorry if its already been posted in here,

Does anyone have a digital version of the manual/handbook for the car?

Thanks in advance

@speedking I think that pre-FL is benefiting hugely due to the current situation in world. I mean 2 year car which did cost 26k EUR brand new hasn’t basically lost its value. On the other hand I’m a bit skeptical about FL and 37k EUR holding that price tag after 2 years at even 30k EUR mark, plus gas and tax price that will most likely go up won’t help in the next 5 years to resell either. I guess I have my answer, though I still would like someone to prove me wrong, so I could place an order for the brand new one :D
