Turnips.

Don’t ask why I’ve decided calling people random food names is a good way to insult them...it’s been a long week. Favourite one so far is ham sandwich. I’m not right in the head o_O

Just had my first (10,000 mile) service. That is basically an oil change and tell you that your tyres are worn out.
No other diagnostics requested (standard charge of £51 is somewhat offputting ).
Dealer put 14 miles on at 21.6 mpg.
I know that @_Emma posted similar but I can't find that post.
Anyone else have similar?
Take it up with the dealer. @Aaron_N had a shocking experience with this and put in a formal complaint. The Hyundai Headshed met with him and there was apology and compensation. They took it seriously.

If this happens here in the UK I’d be bloody amazed!!

+1 for dashcams front and back, people behave if they know they're being watched.

@WestsideTouge a few people have said they unplug them or put stickers on them

Telling them there’s a tracker and if it goes off the forecourt you’ll report it stolen works...

I once brought my previous car in to the dealership for a suspension installation, then shortly after leaving it there realized I had left my wallet in the car. Upon returning I had to wait while they tried to get ahold of the tech on his cell.

15 minutes later comes my car, screaming down the highway while I'm standing there. They hadn't installed anything yet, there was absolutely no reason to be driving it.

If it were an automatic I'd not worry much but it doesn't take long to cook a clutch in the wrong hands.

Just noticed that on the invoice the "mileage in" and "mileage out" have been recorded as the same value  Wish I'd noticed that at the time, I would have got them to change it. That could have been amusing.

33% polyester? There must be a story there.

Sleep is a definite need...not sure it’ll fix the weirdness though :p

Yup, that's the MBSW way. And at his third attempt at excuses, their MD told me it was for security reasons and then because some of their techs were shy!

My reply was, they can be shy and take liberties with the car when they pay for it, and pay for the servicing!

Re: Dashcam unplugging etc. Perhaps it's an Aussie thing (privacy issue/law), but look at it this way. How would you feel about people watching and recording the work you're doing at your workplace?

You can reset it so it wont show for another year go into settings and it is somewhere in there I did that with mine and now no ding spanner warning me a service is due.

No problem with it...because I don’t do things I’m not meant to do (or I make sure I’m out of camera shot when I do them)

I see what you’re saying (and I certainly don’t think tech’s should be unplugging dash cams - one did this to my mum’s car once and didn’t re-plug it and she nearly had a serious accident on the way home and consequently no footage to prove the dangerous driving by someone else) but in general the whole argument of nothing to hide, nothing to fear when it comes to surveillance and privacy is really detrimental to what should be a basic human right.

Other, far smarter people than me have some interesting counter points against it (although the slant is from the mass surveillance perspective):

I was kinda messing about - laws vary country to country and here in the UK you’re in camera all over the place, other countries it’s much more strict.

Either way, when I say don’t drive my car - don’t drive my car!

If it's at the dealers and requires a test drive so what.As long as they don't scratch it or wash it I couldn't give a monkeys.
