Sometimes they do have to rag it.
This is the reason I do all my car maintenance myself.
The downside of the Hyundai warranty is you have to take it to the dealer to keep your 5 years warranty.

This is incorrect and illegal

Under EU Block Exemption legislation, which has been around for many years now, a manufacturer cannot force a buyer to have their car serviced by their official dealership network, and cannot refuse to honour a new car warranty simply because a car has been serviced elsewhere. However, a manufacturer does have the right to set a servicing schedule which must be adhered to

The Service Record Book lists the requirements if an independent service provider is used.
1. Must be a member of a recognised trade organisation, so no doing it yourself.
2. Documentation to include details of all parts used and copy of service check sheet. Not things you often see in sufficient detail.

Anti-perforation warranty requires strict scheduled inspections by a Hyundai dealer, e.g. 12 months ±30 days, which may be chargeable.

Anyone know any good places for service plans or think theyre worth it at all? Hyundai are expensive.

I was interested in getting a 3 year service plan.
Hyundai garage would bend over backwards when I was buying the car.
After buying the car, not had a single response over the price of the service plan (emailed them several times) even though they "promised" to get back to me with the price when I picked it up over a month ago.

More great customer service. It's like they don't want to take our money after the initial sale...

This is what happened to me. Said they were offering me one with a discount then said their system was down and aint heard of them since.

@coxy 2 carpets

Is that correct re: using Hyundai to maintain residual value?

I was planning on using my local trusted garage (VAT registered of course) for servicing going forward.

Cheers

Most of the time yeah, I mean look at it this way, if you was buying a VW Golf GTI (And I mean IF) would you pay more for a car that has been serviced at a main VW dealer compared to one thats been serviced in some garage in a different city that you have never heard of before?

it will always be more expensive buying a service plan through a main dealer - maybe try EMAC service plans ! - Actually your find most main dealers use this for older vehicles - but this still includes manufacturers parts and wont mess with the warranty

I was going to take one out from the main dealer, but since I was skint I said I would go back to them in a couple of months, they seemed fine about it.... whether they are the same in a few months, who knows!

After my i30N 1500km service I found the dealer had not reset the 1500km service interval and each day the negative distance increased. So I found how the reset to another 1500km or 30 days but I would really like to reset the interval to 10000km or 365 days. Yes I can return to the dealer but he is some distance away and I am not due that way for a few weeks. So just asking if I can do it myself. (I can do this on my wife’s i30 as per a you tube clip on the subject. I have also done it on my KTM for the same reason.)
