Winter Wheels & Tyres

Just ordered a set of Enkei SC22 8x18 ET45 for the winter. Hoping that they're going to fit. Having them delivered to my local tyre fitter just to be sure that all the tolerances are ok before putting the tires on.

Almost all German websites won't let you manually select wheel and tyre sizes (love the TÜV) but they don't yet have the i30N in their databases and the standard i30 wheel/tyre combo's always force you to get tyres that are too small for the N. So I found that the current i40 has the correct sizing for the i30N (235/40 R18).

Just googled those wheels, they look pretty nice!
 
I’d prefer them in a darker colour but they do look good! How much brake clearance do you have?

I thought they'd be a little darker too. A few minutes of winter driving will fix that ;)

Clearance is OK, having the ET45 helps out with the spoke brake clearance (though I'm not sure it was really necessary, these wheels have thinner spokes that the stock ones), and there's at least a cm between the caliper and rim. I'll make some better pics when I have the tires on.

Winter does tend to do that haha!

10mm is plenty! I’ve seen a lot less haha! When do you e pact your tyres to be fitted and are those wheels going on straight away?
 
I ordered wheels and tyres at the same time from the same place, but the shipped separately. Since the wheels arrived first I thought it would be a good idea to do a test fit just in case they have to go back.

As soon as the tyres and TPMS valves arrive they will go on the car until mid April.

Not sure I didn't put them on the scales. Subjectively the total package of wheels and tyres does feel lighter than the stock wheels and tyres, but I couldn't say by how much.
 
Super info, meanwhile I went to the enkei site, where the I30N is in the configurator now, even the pp, and it pushes me to the Nagato 19' Wheels?
 
I asked dealer today, when I ordered the car and he told me, that it is not possible to use r18 on performance version. Is it true?

That's not true. There are a few examples on the forum who have used 18" on the PP.
 
The problem here (Czech Rep) that it has to be written in the registration papery that younare allowmto use it and you need the official statement from hyundai, that it is possible.

Similar situation here in Austria. I ended up ordering my wheels from Germany, told the company they were for an i40 otherwise they would not sell them to me, then I got a backstreet garage to do the install.

I'm sure that by next winter the situation will be better when there are more i30Ns.

I chose a well known branded wheel that has been around for some time, since the chances of it being officially certified by next winter are higher.
 
Hey guys. Anyone tried fitting 17" wheels on their Performance pack N ? Theoretically they may fit over the 345mm brakes on the front.
