Other Veloster N Aftermarket exhaust

I ordered a bunch of crap to install the down pipe. Exhaust bushing pliers, 2 jack stands(I got 4 now), 2 trolley jacks, drop light, impact sockets and swivel extensions, a set of speed wrenches for the heat shields, I already have an impact gun. O2 sensor cel fix, cir-clip pliers. I think there is more but I can't think of it right now. lol...

Lol! Holy crap Mike! Yes, I think you ordered everything. 😜 Better to be prepared though. And I am also of the opinion that I would rather own all the tools then pay to have work done that I can do. 😁

I agree C.C. I can do this down pipe. If I can pull an engine out of a 1983 Trans Am (305) and replace it with a better motor(350, 4 bolt main) and have it run great, I can do this down pipe.... All it really is going to take is patience. I plan on doing the down pipe over a Frida night, Saturday, and Sunday. Now that's patience. lol...

I mean, it only took me 4 years to replace the motor. lol.... Of course, I am just kidding....

Br,

Got my downpipe from AFE, I can report firsthand it does not include the DP to turbo gasket as I was told. It only comes with the one between the flex pipe and midpipe. I had planned to install it yesterday, but was really unhappy with how it looked. Top O2 sensor threads are mashed, there is a dent where the DP makes to the turbo, and the lower O2 sensor hole looks like it was done with a plasma cutter...Not the quality I expected from AFE. I called and emailed about a replacement. Will keep you all posted...PSX_20200609_220705.jpgPSX_20200609_220815.jpgPSX_20200609_220948.jpgPSX_20200609_221010.jpg

Holy CRAP! Makes me glad I cancelled my order. Looks like they are trying to go too fast with delivery instead of being patient and doing it right. What's another day or two before it ships if the quality will be better? Sorry to see that, CC. Good luck with the out come!

Best regards,

-Mike

Mate, that's unacceptable. This masterpiece was confiscated from one of my "clients" recently and I believe the workmanship is far superior. I'd be sending that back for a refund and having a chat to @ChipRussia if I was you

Yeah, very disappointing after waiting as long as I did to get this. Looks rushed for sure. I'll let you know what happens. If they dont send a replacement, I'll request my money back and go a different direction. 🤨
Do you know if this bracket is supposed to only be welded on one side, or is that just an oversight.

Its welded on one side not the other. Whole thing just looks rushed. Disappointing.

Wow, I'm not surprised after the issues with the exhaust flap. Send it back for sure noting every issue. This is about as bad as it gets. This ^ downpipe won't last based upon what you've demonstrated. Get your money back!

aFe Takeda has gone downhill in their construction. There's obviously been no CQ of the product and is poorly constructed. Even the top flange is not flush or welded correctly. They need to fire whoever put this pipe together.

After seeing this result, I'm not dealing with them for anything. It looks nothing like the what they posted. It's awful!:(

Agreed, completely unacceptable. The guy I spoke to asked if I tried to install it...I said there was no way I was putting this part in my car.

Ya know this is really too bad. I have their Scorcher piggyback, and their Momentum Intake and they are both great. It is too bad that this happened. I am not buying anything else from them either now, at least that's made out of metal. The advice I'd give is to stay away from their exhaust products. I DO think the rest of what they make is ok though.

Best regards,

-Mike

Also the picture they use looks computer generated and NOT even of the real item. Shame on them....

Thank you, ChipRussia!!! It left Moscow on June 9th. :)

What other catted downpipe do you guys recommend. Forge is a little rich for my blood. Looking to keep it under 700 if possible. Not familiar with ChipRussia. XForce is the only other option I know about, but dont have any experience with them either.

I honestly think that sxth element has the best downpipe for a couple different reasons. One it has a cast bell mouth and two it is already ceramic coated. Just my thoughts. I don't own one yet however I believe those who do haven't had complaints on craftsmanship.
