TarmoT 385bhp/526Nm i30ntracktoy - SOLD

Hey Tarmot!

What happened to the 355mm Brake Upgrade?

Im looking around aswell but can barely find anything..

Stoptech sadly isnt Developing anything for the N yet.

First Time Attack event behind my back...
First impressions - car is good, well balanced and has no understeer or oversteer at all. Front end still bends littlebit too much but Whiteline front ARB should fix it.
During whole day car suffer under boost leak and I wasn´t able to fix problem on spot, so I started my day by having 0.8bar of boost and finished by having no boost at all.
At home I removed my intake, heatshield and discover what caused that problem:

Plastic L-shape reducer was broken and vacuum hose wasn´t connected to BOV at all :(
So small problem and I have no idea why I didn´t check it on spot.
Here are some photos another local N owner made:

What was the outsise air temp and your oil temp?
Did you notice a power reduction on high oil temps?

Had a few laps on Nordschleife last WE at 30°C outside air temp and the oil was up to 125-130°C after every lap what forces me to do a short cool down trip after every lap. But the oil was little under 100°C after less then 5 minutes so i guess it is ok.

But i think he could need an additional oil cooler.

Outside air temp was 34-degrees and oil temp was between 110 and 120-degrees. I never feeled power loss during track sessions but we have very SHORT sessions. What kind of oil you are using?

Sounds like some brass or stainless fittings are on the near horizon. That sucks when a .50 cent part causes a problem. I remember a $6.00 ball bearing did it to the Parnelli Jones Indy Turbine car. Cost him the win that year. No one was close.

Stock hyundai oil, had the fist oil change in february.
So i assume you're using a different oil then?
And what's a short session? One lap on NOS is 8-9 minutes what i consider as very short :)

Do not use that Shell and if you are using your car also on track, change oil afer each 5000km-s.
Out track sessions are 1 warmup lap, 5-minutes of hot laps + one cooling down lap. Our tracks are short (45-sec per lap).
I´m using Millers CFS 0W30 NT+ oil and I have no problems at all.
I can show you how looks compressor shaft of 18 000km driven turbocharger (car has been running on Shell oil and oil was changed on 15 000km):

Look those pictures I added here - it is the result of bad oli (extreme temperatures inside of turbocharger). And that car where I got that turbocharger, was not used on track.
For street you can use every single oil but if you will push your car to extreme conditions, you must use better oil than universal mass product.
0W30 spec cheap oil (Shell Helix oil Hyundai is using inside of production cars engine) is ok for non-performance engines where oil temp is not rising close to or even over 100-degrees. But tuned up 2.0t-gdi engine needs better oil what will not turn to water (will not loose its lubricating effect) after 85-degrees or oil with different spec like 5w30 or 5W40.

After last track event I made decision to upgrade my anti-roll-bars because I was satisfied with rear end but front end was bending thru still too much with stock ARB.
So I put down the order from Whiteline and went to the following setup:

I also made order from Forge:

And received some gaskets for turbo raplacement (new hot side studs and nuts are still not delivered):

We also removed resonator from my exhaust and now it sounds like it should - like popcorn machine ;)
Next Time Attack event will be on this Saturday
Stay tuned ;)
