Does anybody know the correct service interval for the I30N my dealer says 10,000 miles or twelve months the owners manual states every 6,000 miles and the My Hyundai page states every 2 years everywhere I look gives a different answer. Not sure why they all say different things.
15k kilometres / 12 months for Switzerland.
I also asked Hyundai Switzerland for an official statement since my dealer was also confused. They confirmed it. But manual in Switzerland says 10k kilometres.

You sure about that, mate? My service warranty passport has 10K km/12 month intervals.
I agree Gazman.... 10k or 12 months whichever comes first. My car just had 10k service, and for the last 1000 ks it has been reminding me every time I got in the car.
Having said that, I almost want to instantly retract it.
The manual I just downloaded (easier than going out to the car), the service interval is 12 months / 15k, so Stash is right. But just 2 lines down, it tells you the engine oil and filter should be replaced every 10K kms (6K miles) or 12 months.
Seems Hyundai doesn't know what it wants.
I replaced my oil and filter at 1K service, and I also replaced the oil and filter at 5k myself. You can never have too many oil changes.
I will continue to do services at 10K kms intervals, but my concern is there appears to be NO indication from the dealership on what they actually did to my car. What did they inspect? What did they replace? Where the report telling me all this AND telling me all is good? The service was FAST, less than 2 hours, the mileage was 0.2 kms, so they didn't test drive it (possibly a good thing), and they charged me $299 for what I think was a VERY expensive oil change and a 5 minute visual inspection.
My regular mechanic gives me a full report on what was inspected, what was found, what was replaced, and what needs replacing shortly, and charges less than the dealer.
The SECOND this car is out of warranty, it will NEVER see a dealership workshop again....

Cool, thanks man. Just wanted to make sure I got the Australian and not the Austrian service passport or some such failure. May I ask what the 10k service cost you? And was that first service you opted for, or did you go 5k/6 month interim as well?
Our cars don't have as much oil in reserve as the german brands do that recomend going 10K+ miles on an oil change.
If you want your engine to be healthy and last, I'd say do it every 4k with a good synthetic oil like Motul, Liquimoly, AMSOil, etc. Avoid Castrol and Mobil 1 like the plague, that stuff is basically water once it gets some heat into it.
For the rest of the civilized world that uses the Metric system, that's approximately 6000km

Hi all!
UK 275N owner who's just had his car's first service as I've reached 10,000 miles (owned the car for 11 months). Below is a list of my car's issues / annoyances which I have noticed plus the Hyundai service's responses to them (although somewhat summarised):
1. Ticking noise whenever the car stops, very annoying. Happens every journey!
- "This is a feature of the car, due to the performance of it the exhaust gets hot and it's the noise of it cooling down."
2. Car occasionally struggles to start. Unsure why, seems to be more common when its wet/cold. But does happen after work (car idle for 9hours~).
- "This is a feature of the car, due to the performance of the engine there's a lot going on when it starts which results in the occasional slow startup."
3. Rattling inside the interior middle light of the car, only notice when no music is playing.
- "We tried to recreate this but were unable to."
4. Seems to have real trouble getting into 6th gear, more commonly on first time during a journey but not limited to the first time.
- "We have identified this as an issue, it will take 3 days to fix."
5. Occasionally a weird noise when depressing the clutch after accelerating.
- "We tried to recreate this but were unable to, it may be the exhaust valves closing".
6. Hard turning in either direction makes a loud clicking noise in the wheels. Happens when wet / cold so in the mornings.
- "We tried to recreate this but were unable to."
I'd be very grateful if anyone's noticed or has similar issues, as although their responses seem reasonable they could be playing me for a fool as I'm not mechanic savvy!

1 makes sense. 2 could just be a cold battery though i guess it depends how much it is struggling. 3 might be the headliner rattle.
I'm glad they acknowledge #4. 5 could be many things but I wouldn't worry too much unless it gets worse. 6 is probably the normal operation of the lsd.

1 is normal. It’s just cooling down.
2 what an excuse! But mine occasionally has a rough start when cold, takes a extra second to catch or it’s a bit rough. I think all cars get this occasionally.
3 there’s threads on this (using my phone so a pain to find will edit later)
4 there’s a thread on this. Mine occasionally does it, just doesn’t quite slot in but it looks like there’s a recall on this.
5 is this in lower gears/at slow speeds? If so there’s a thread about this, just the clutch engaging and disengaging
6 LSD thread talks about this. Mine does it terribly, but it’s ‘normal’.
