My wife and I were a bit miffed when Kia brought out the ‘GT-Line’ for their Ceed and Pro Ceed. We kinda liked that the proper Pro Ceed GT was still a rare sight on UK roads.

However, what you actually just found was that 99.9% of the times when you said ‘oh, there’s our car’.....it was actually the GT-Line when you seen the wheels or front end or whatever. And then it made you feel better!

It will NOT make our car any less ‘exclusive’ on the road! And at the end of the day, when you put your foot down, it will dispel any blurred line about the model of car you have!!!!!
You're absolutely right. Only thing I will miss is that "wow" effect. This has been gone after golf3 gti. So the gti was the mainstream car. Every golf looks similar. I like the eyecatching magnet like karma of my car. Even you drive in Eco or normal, people start looking to that "hyundai". So in custom or N, you will make turning heads - this will hopefully be exclusive for the N. :)

I don't know where i should put this so admins i'm sorry if its in the wrong place,

I keep seeing an N-Line in Peterborough.
Its so annoying, i keep thinking its an N and give it a "toot" i cant tell the difference in my rear view mirror but when it passes me and i see it doesn't have a spoiler nor 2 large exhausts I just feel disappointed.

Do you guys feel the same?/have you seen one?

Yep, posted some pics of the N line when I was in the motorshow on the Fastback N post, and you are right. The bumpers, skirts and seats are identical with a similar steering wheel. The big difference from the outside in passing glance is the twin exhausts together to one side as opposed to 1 on each end. That and the Rear Spoiler. The wheels seem to be from the i30 Premium but I suppose these can be easily changed.

To be honest, I don't mind this at all, since I am the "All Go and No Show" kinda guy rather than the N line buyer who will be "All Show and No Go"
Perfectly happy for people to assume I drive an ordinary Hyundai especially those who feel they have to prove something in their souped up Seat Leon's or VW Golfs.

I'll still wave at them and will expect a wave back... if I ever see one! I've yet to see another N in the wild...

They are rare beasts in Norway. Never seen another one, and probably won’t since only 15 have been sold.

The great thing is that alot of people are looking at it ;)

1st and 2nd gear sounds REAL wicked in N-mode

I may be a minority here, but am pleased that the N Line has been released.

My wife likes my N, but it is too juicy for the miles that she does every year and she doesn't want/need all the power of the N, so we are looking at getting an N line as her next car, which I am pleased about.
I do like to see a good looking car after I have washed it and the i30 premium diesel that we were looking at, just doesn't do it for me, "looks wise" and so we would have a brand new car which I would have not really have any enthusiasm for regarding keeping it nice and clean.

@Rumple, the wheels are not from the i30 premium but from the i30 fastback range and this is also something that makes the N line look so much better then the i30 premium.

I stand corrected. You are spot on.:) It is the Fastback Premium wheels. I took a pic of them whilst at the motorshow and I must admit they looked good on the hatchback. Very similar to the (2014 on) Mazda 3 Sport Nav alloy wheel design in my opinion. Not a bad thing as I had that car previously. Also just checked what the premium
Hatch gets in terms of alloys. I fully see where you are coming from... the N Line ones are much nicer!

The N-Line that is reportedly hitting Australian shores will be an N Line version of our SR. 150kw 1.6 litre turbo, with the option of DCT.

Definitely NOT my choice, but I agree with Andrew Fuller. My wife needs a new car, and she won't drive my N because it is a manual, she doesn't need 200 kw, but she likes the style of the N over the current SR. The slightly softer suspension, and 18" wheels is a big advantage for someone not looking for a hard core performance hatch. The N may not be truly hard core, but it is much harder than the SR (or the N-Line SR).

Can't wait for it to hit our shores....

Not a fan of them sticking the N on these lower spec cars, kind of dilutes the N brand a bit, call it something else, like SR-P for example, but keep the N for strickly the performance cars only, I thought I read something that Albert Biermann hated BMW slapping the M on so many of his cars that didn’t deserve it, now Hyundai is doing the same thing, if that’s true then I’d imagine he wouldn’t be too happy about it, people with these N-Line cars will be debadging everything and leaving the N on there, not cool..

I bought the car for me.
I know what it is.
Plenty of people think I may be a grandad as it’s a Hyundai.

N Line whatever, I know, you know. Car people know.

Plus if your feeling down when you see one, just go pop pop bang bang burble and smile.

I agree with you in a way, but it is very common across most normal car brands.

There are so many differences in looks between an N and an N-line. The exhaust, rear top braking light, the red line in front and rear, the sound+++

I think it is pretty easy to spot the difference.

There are other brands where this is more difficult.

This sort of thing has been going on for years. As an Aussie you would be aware of: Ford GT - Ford GS, Holden GTS - Holden SS, Charger E38 - some other Charger without Weber carbs.
The lower spec cars are seen as that by those who know the cars. I, like some others posting on this thread really don't care too much. I don't believe they devalue the N brand. Current price of a genuine Ford Falcon GT Phase 3 versus a similar condition Ford Falcon GS. :)
The defence rests your honour.

Mods, unsure where to put this so move to right section if need be :).

Coming home yesterday I saw the sleek lines of a Black i30N in my rear vision mirror. I slowed down to wait and see if I could have a chat with driver. I see it pull up beside me and to my shock see a N Line badge on the side. The front end fooled me! So into my local dealership I go. An N Line is basically a diluted N (old SR) with wheels, exterior and interior goodies. Took a quick pic and had a good look and to be honest it looked pretty good. Still nothing on the N though.

That sighting prompted you to randomly go into your dealer so you can take a closer look?

Was not aware the N-Line was already in Aus. I knew it was coming to replace the SR. Hyundai seem to do very little advertising except for the Kona (Car Wash) advert on commercial TV here.

Tucson gets a good run here too with the Telescope family. If you watch the A-League on Foxtel, they keep playing i30 N ads!

Yep, forgot the Tucson ads. I tend to fast forward ads nowadays. Not that free to air TV has much worthwhile content to watch. Netflix and YouTube are my friends when not taking the N for a drive that is. :)
On a slightly off topic note. It is 40 degrees C here in South Aus but I must say the N's AC is doing a great job. I am appreciating the solar glass windscreen also.:cool::cool::eek:

Agreed on all counts!

Stig, sure did because the nearest dealership was 3 sets of traffic lights away haha. So why not?

Nice work! :D
