Not happy about sport line but people who can't afford the real car are happy with the sport line. You can say to your friend that you own a sport car even if it's actually not as nowadays people are not interested in cars.

Well least they are buying the N-Line over the N. That’ll keep the value of the real deal up ;)

Looks sufficiently different so no big deal for me. Looks nice all the same.

However, I agree that Hyundai would be better served giving 100% to their present (and upcoming) I30N customers before rolling out this car. Dealing with order backlogs, Widespread ECU replacements in a timely manner and looking at dedicated performance upgrades etc.

Hopefully will bring in more money to help further develop the N brand later on tho, also with more cars on the market and opening up the demographic more companies will then start producing parts so the tuning market will widen up too

Skoda now flog the poverty spec Octavia in Race Blue that was exclusive to the VRS.

Makes me feel cheap and robbed every time I pass one, plus I almost wave but they will think I'm nuts unless its a VRS.

As a business model makes sense, so many fast looking cars out there now that are just not.

Looks almost identical from the front I feel, great idea from Hyundai but feel the brand may be brought down in a few years with the younger generation buying a small engine version, sticking N badges on. Driving like helmets and giving the brand a stigma, similar to the good old “bmw drivers” opinion that will probably last for eternity

I don’t mined this I pushed my st line to 150bhp dropped it on springs stuck a sporty exhaust on and it did the job was fast looked good, free tax, good fuel and just a tad slower than a stock st but still as fun.
And that’s the main reason for this some people want different things from there car some people maybe be happy with there N as it is some obviously are not and after more power lower ride etc so when a company release a cheaper option with the same feel, looks and cheaper to run but just as good people will buy it

Guys don‘t worry:) Pedal to the metal and (sorry Ford:p) feel the difference. All future N-Line Drivers will see our exhaust holes and all we‘ll see is a cheap N-imitation in the rear mirror:D

Personally I think they could have done more to differentiate. I'm not gonna lie I had a bit of a moan on the hyundai UK Facebook today, because I know such people who claim to drive a Mercedes AMG, when in reality it's an A140 with a bodykit, big spangly wheels, and lots of badges.

I know it's obviously missing the engine, and also sills and rear spoiler, but why, why, why did they carry over the bumpers and seats? For example a Focus ST Line doesn't carry over bumpers from the ST. They colour code the standard bumpers and add lower valances. Where as if you see one of these coming towards you it's identical apart from no N on the grill.

I understand why they are doing it, but for me it completely dilutes the exclusivity, and what little presence the car has, so I'm really quite disappointed. All you have to rely on to most people will be the noise.

The only probable saving grace is the type of people in this market where looks are more important than anything else will likely still turn their nose up at buying a hyundai and will go buy something else.

Looking at the video above, I thought the seats looked nicer in the N-line. I want piping.

I totally get these 'warm' variants, the family man who still wants to take a detour via the country roads and have some fun but can't justify the full fat 'hot' version. It's nothing new, it's been happening since the dawn of the hot hatch. Think Astra SRi>GTE, Escort XR3>RS Turbo and so on... I do agree the naming isn't as good. ST-Line, N-Line, R-Line, GT-Line, etc. Just don't have the same ring to it, compared to the older period stuff, SR, SRi, XSi etc..
