Suppose I have bought this car for me.

It’s not for show (apart from the noise maybee) but the noise is for me too.

Don’t care what others think or if it’s exclusive. I know, and anyone who knows knows.

Everyone else dont give a stuff anyway.

This is bang on!!!

I don’t mined this I pushed my st line to 150bhp dropped it on springs stuck a sporty exhaust on and it did the job was fast looked good, free tax, good fuel and just a tad slower than a stock st but still as fun.
And that’s the main reason for this some people want different things from there car some people maybe be happy with there N as it is some obviously are not and after more power lower ride etc so when a company release a cheaper option with the same feel, looks and cheaper to run but just as good people will buy it
Have you seen the consumption of the N line cars? :D

They look near the same as the ones for the N :D also the cost to buy the car...

Personally I don't like it. We payed big money for a car that looks exclusive.
Now that style is no longer unique to the real N
Yes the general undercurrent on the forum seems to be with you on this one. A few others don't seem to care, happy in the fact they have the real deal and not the N-line.
I think Hyundai already have the SR models (I assume they have them in your neck of the woods too) so they are slicing the market really thin by adding the N-line.

Audi's, VW's and Merc's sport lines have been out for ever.. People are retro-fake-fitting those also forever. Who cares? I barely see an Audi that is not S-line around here.. It's not the first time it has happened, and won't be the last.

I paid for the complete package, the sound, the power, the great driving experience. The styling is part of that but I honestly could not care less that some people will stick some styling package on their 100bhp base i30. It will still look off and if you ever encounter one you can give them a taste of the real thing while you leave them in the dust :). To each their own.

Stuttagrt: Wannabe tuned old Audi A3 (2004/1.4l/102hp) with bigger exhaust outlets than the Remus exhaust for the N, loud, ugly wheels and bodykit, stickers (NOS/ FEBI / BREMBO...) all over the "car", and a RS3 emblem front and rear. Respect dude.

I did not know if I wanted to laugh or cry

The way he drove it. If you have not seen it you can not believe it. LIKE A B0$$

I think I end up sat on the fence with this. On one hand I'm irritated by it, I wish they'd waited a little bit longer to do it and let the N stretch it's legs a bit first and find it's 'place'...but on the other, I know what I drive and I like that other people don't. It's one of the reasons I went for it in the end, and it's much more fun that way. I've generally avoided people picking a fight and I think that's because they don't know what the car is but when I want to play, I can.

Look, I am right there with you @_Emma on this view. I do think it is a poor decision by the Hyundai bean counters to jump in with these cars so soon.

@Stash-N I think it could have done with bedding in a bit longer, ironing out the N issues, making it into a bit of a car legend...then doing it. Maybe 2 years or so after launch. I get why they’ve done it though, $€£$€£!

@Stash-N If it goes wrong, it could tank the lot (I’m not saying it will). I think their reputation varies wildly around the world, and to be up there with similar cars is going to be hard to keep up. This one they’ve done so well because it was so unexpected, had it been a Golf or a BMW they wouldnt have had the same reaction. Version 2 won’t be so easy and people may not be so forgiving...so spreading out the brand so thinly before having the formula/brand following may or may not work. I hope they prove me wrong.

It's like your reading my mind.. Stop it ! It is freaking me out...

And what are we doing? Taking all the stuff off and making it naked. We don't need labels to be awesome - listen to us roar. Grrr....
Would look pretty cool if you remove all N things, the red accents, make it a bit higher and use small brake discs with 16" alloys. Also we should remove the triangle and the unesed resonated left side of the exhaust :)

Would be a perfect i30 for big kids :D

My wife and I were a bit miffed when Kia brought out the ‘GT-Line’ for their Ceed and Pro Ceed. We kinda liked that the proper Pro Ceed GT was still a rare sight on UK roads.

However, what you actually just found was that 99.9% of the times when you said ‘oh, there’s our car’.....it was actually the GT-Line when you seen the wheels or front end or whatever. And then it made you feel better!

It will NOT make our car any less ‘exclusive’ on the road! And at the end of the day, when you put your foot down, it will dispel any blurred line about the model of car you have!!!!!
