Hey guys,
So, I'm into two years of ownership of my N and, I still love it! Compared to where I came from with a "character filled" 2015 Renault Clio RS Cup Premium, the N is night and day better. But, I've got one thing on my mind now, and that's changing out the wheels to some new lightweight items. Now, this is where I enter the void on differing opinions and "facts" on the forum. I thought I'd ask if there is a definitive direction from Hyundai (as I know that there are a few official reps on this platform.)
Now, finding a 19x8 +55 rim aftermarket is near on impossible. I do want to stick with the 19" size, I have a new (less than 8k km) set of PS4S which are brilliant and wearing really evenly compared to the P Zeros. I've found a few designs I like, however they're all 19x8 +45. Which is where the topic around scrub radius and warranty voiding comes into play. Is this definitely the case? I've read that adjusting the scrub radius on these cars by way of wheel change is frowned upon, and yet other threads where people are purchasing cars from dealers with aftermarket wheels fitted? I'm somewhat hopeful that there is an offical picture here that can be shared, just so I'm 100% sure I'm not "upsetting the apple cart" by changing wheels over. Now, if I talk to a wheel shop, they tell me "it's no problems at all, we do this all the time" but I guess they're not the point of contact on and warranty claims (void or not.)
So, hopefully I'm not upsetting too many people in asking this question. As mentioned, I have searched, but unfortunately the info I have found contradicts information also found here.
Cheers guys!
Daniel
