Ok gang. I have given up on buying the Motec Ultralight 8.5J, ET45 5X114.3 19’’ as I had these wheels on back order since February and the guy rang me last week and told me local distributor in the UK has pulled the plug on importing the Motec now sparco is unavailable as well as it was these two types of wheels I was looking at buying.

Now I can order the OZ Hyundai i30N rim, Hyper GT (19") with standard fitting 8J ET55 5X114.3 19’’ but as I am sure you are all aware that alloy set comes to nearly 2K as opposed to 1K well to say it correctly £1679 for the OZ and £978 or so for the Sparco or Motec.

I don’t know what to do has anyone got links where I could buy either the Sparco or Motec, or do you think like myself that paying for the OZ wheels is a stretch too far they are nice and I could buy them but it is still an awful lot of money when maybe the Sparcos would do just fine and look as good.

So, what do you all think I should do. Been looking on line and some on line places say they have the sparcos in stock but I bet there would be a delivery delay only wheels that are in stock for delievry are the Dotz Kendo dark. the Motecs no delievry date whatsoever why is that as Alloy rims that are nice are so difficult to buy and get a hold of.

Finally if I do go with 8.5J, ET45 5X114.3 19’’ will I get any rubbing as a few pages back someone was suggesting there would be rubbing can anyone confirm.
 
Wish I could afford to change my rims every season usually I keep my rims and sell them 15 years down the road with them still on the car.

Tire will stick out 17 mm farther. Rim will stick out 36 mm farther. Make sure that you have enough room under the fender. If not, consider narrower tires or higher offset.

Rim is 2 mm closer to suspension components. Acceptable for most cars.

Positive scrub radius (about 17 mm). Scrub radius will be changed by 17 mm, this may affect the car's handling. Please check manufacturer recommendations.
 
Wow! I had planned to go with the Alleggeritas, but OZ raised prices with 01.01.2020. I decided not to spend 1900€ only for the rims. My Motecs inkl. Michelin PS4S and sensors came at 1400€!! And the weight is the same as the OZs. Yours 2450€ is absolutely crazyo_O
 
I was interested to read your reply and that is a god awful lot of money which is difficult to earn for me the price comes in at 1670 GBP or 1845 Euro so I got thinking the Sparco alloys are slightly heavier than the Hyundai OZ GT alloys and are made at the same factory with the same manufacturing technologies OZ & Sparco wheels are produced through Low Pressure Casting and Gravity technologies not that matters as the cost in saving buying the Sparcos would be £659 I could buy some more extras for the car with that money so don’t really know what to do.

I do like the look af the OZ and that is what you are paying for a lighter alloy rim with the hyper GT as it is strengthened where it is needed I would always regret not buying the OZ alloys suppsoe the Holidays are cancelled this year but now the missus has decorating on the horizon.

Will have to make a decision real soon and I am STUMPED AS TO WHAT TO DO REALLY i AM
