Brakes Brake Upgrade Discussion (Discs / Pads / ... )

Hi! Just to chip in a bit. Been at the Nurburgring couple of weeks ago. Hyundai has two i30n and one Ioniq 5n cars for taxi rides. While I was waiting for my turn to have a lap in the Ioniq both of the i30n were running almost non stop lap after lap.
While I was having the lap with the Ioniq 5n I asked the driver (Marc) about the cars. He said they run stock everything, break disks and pads included. Just the tires are different (Hankook Ventus S1 Evo Z). They have no problem with overheating or brake fade and break pads are replaced daily.

I was interested about the breaks in particular because the front disks on my 2019 Fastback were worn more than the recommended and I bought DBA 4000 T3 disks and Ferodo DS2500 pads based on peoples experiences here. Will do an N Club track day next Monday - hopefully all goes well. I'm a newbie on track so I take it slow anyway :)

One must consider the Nring is quite easy on the brakes. Daily change of brake pads is quite impressive :D

What's that N club track day if I may ask? :)

N Club in Czech Republic is organizing it couple of times a year on the race track in Most.
It was split in morning and afternoon sessions. You could choose in which one to participate. Each session had 3 groups and each of those groups had 15 min. slots to drive on the track. There were 6 instructors that you could "take for a ride" and give you pointers how to drive better + there were three Ioniq 5 N cars which they were running for taxi laps (those were a lot of fun!).

I have Tarox F2000 and Pagid RSL29 on my FL and I'm not very happy with RSL29, they have a strange feeling lake fadeout when you are braking from high speed (220kmh) to low speed corner (90kmh). They don't fadeout but the feeling is wrong, now I will put Ferodo 3.12 and see is there a difference or the problem is something else. (I have SRF oil and brake lines)
Did you put Ferodo 3.12? Any feedback?

Yes, now I'm at second set of Ferodo 3.12 much much better pads, I can brake much latter in corner, it bites aggressively and it is constant, but heat is a problem, after 4 TD they are starting to fall apart even though they look like they are not worn at all

Rather than starting a new thread, I thought I would ask my question here. Purchased a new 2025 i30N Premium for my wife. Most standard break pads leave nasty residue on wheels, which often requires removal by an iron oxidizer product.

In my golf R I replaced the standard pads with ceramic, and have never looked back. Easy to clean with just soap/water/brush. I am looking for a similar product to replace my wife's new i30N pads with ceramic.

The car will never go on a track, so just looking for safe/reliable ceramic pads. So far have looked at EBC yellowstuff pads but they seem to be way over what we need for daily driving. Any other suggestions appreciated.

I find the febi-bilstein pads leave very little dust. They're top quality OEM equivalent usually sold under the blueprint label
Thanks for that. The biggest issue I am finding at the moment is finding the correct part numbers. I'd like to track down the OEM part numbers for front and rear pads. Worried I am going to buy something that wont fit.

Good day fellow N drivers
My OEM breaks and discs are starting to wear out (5 year old i30N pfl 2020)
I am still looking and haven't decided what to take.
I've always thought the OEM were Brembo but seems to not be,so I'm considering Brembo or the OEM.
Or the OEM discs with improved pads and don't know what's ones you all got, ferodo, yellow stuff all I've seen in the past comments.
Zimmerman and NexD are from some fellow N drivers I've heard very bad, wear & tear, dirty and even the ABE Ceramic pads are bad it seems.
I wish to see your all experiences and what I could do to have a close and improved oem build for the break discs and pads.

If you don't trackday the car -> You cannot do wrong with brembo replacement parts. They are top quality.

I track day my i30N at least 2 times a Year at the Nürburgring
Once on my Birthday in May and either October or April
But I think the Brembo will do just fine
Any recommended pads or should I go with Brembo pads too?

Does Brembo offer ceramic pads for low dust? We have a new 2025 i30N Premium and have only done 300 klms and already the wheels are discoloring due to dust.

They only have one option after checking, they do claim on they site to be better then the OEM
Even tho my 5 year old OEM Break Discs and Pads held on like a Hero, even 2x Nürburgring last year.
