Well I got an email back from Plazmaman (https://plazmaman.com) they said, "being the i30N was a limited availability automobile, they didn't have anything in the works yet!" So this leaves it open as a possibility.

I suggest everyone that's interested in an uprated intake manifold, please contact them by email https://plazmaman.com/contact/ and let them know you're interested in them producing one for the i30N.:)

Hey mate, if you make it compatible with the i30n you'll increase your market. I'd buy one, depending on design of course ;)

We only have the i30n platform here (Australia).

As for the design, we will first reverse engineer the stock intake manifold in solidworks. Then CFD the model to get a better understanding of the standard part. Then start designing from there. We definitely don't want to lose any bottom end torque. I think moving the power band would wreck the car and make it not fun to drive.
 
Attention i30n owners - aFe Takeda intake box does not fit to i30n without some modifications on car side. It looks like original intake ducts (engine bay side of radiator frame) are different on i30n than Veloster N.
I had to dismantle it and make some serios cuting.

Now that you have modified it to fit, how do you like it? This is what I am looking at for my next mod. Or the N-variant. :)

No additional intake sound, looks way better than Oem. Air filter element is bigger and also the flow design of that air box is much - much better (no Z-shape restrictor between air box and radiator frame anymore).
 
Most of cases (cars) aftermarket intakes are working but it looks like Hyundai engineers managed to make pretty good intake.
Btw - not just for how it looks but most people will buy aftermarket intakes because of sound :)
I spent some time in the garage on Saturday swapping intercooler and flexpipe. After that we made a performance measurement and although my car is also remapped we didn't experience any need for more air with the stock intake (not even in higher rpm-ranges). At least for me it was a good decision not to go for an aftermarket intake. So once again thanks for your input @TarmoT !
 
For those with inquires about the aFe Takeda mating with the Forge Motorsport Turbo Intake Kit. this is what is going to be needed. I already know the 90 will mate up with the CNC'd Forge Motorsport Turbo Adapter.

Near perfect fit for the 3"x 3", 4 ply 90 with 3" legs. I just need to install it to make sure I don't need the extra inch for clearance of the 4" legs. Personally I don't believe it will be necessary. The actual aFe intake pipe is, smaller in diameter to the Forge Motorsport 4" pipe. I'm still going to make sure. :)

Hey Tarmo, would it be possible to 3D print an adaptor for the takeda intake for the i30n?
 
Looking at opinions between the two aFe intakes on the market. They both have a similar design. The momentum is completely sealed, the stage 2 "seals" to the bottom of the hood. I honestly like the look of the stage 2 with the open top, but feel like the momentum is a better design and more of a true CAI? Not sure if there is much performance difference, just wondering what you guys think? I know the OEM does a good job in it's own right, just looking at other options.

They seem to be the exact same design with one using the hood as a lid.
Don't know if it seals properly but it should work, it's been tested after all.
The thing with the "open" one is you could potentially install an intake scoop into the hood that feeds directly into the induction kit. The servicability may also be a bit better with the open design.

Yeah, being able to remove the filter easier is always a plus. I guess that will depend on if the filter seals from outside or inside the airbox.
When I spoke with aFe directly they said it seals pretty good, but wasn't going to be as tight as the actual sealed box of course. Perhaps that's why it shows higher airflow on there testing.

Yes sir, it does use the hood to seal the unit. It will actually depress the seal about 3/4 of the width. :)

I still dont understand the descpencey between the two. The stage 2 shows higher flow, but lower HP/Torque. If they both esentially the same design and both seal, then why the deference in duno numbers? (That is according to aFe.)

Red/Tarmo any reason you opted for one over the other?
