Also picked mine up on Saturday, heard I got a mention from you @Largoat 😂

Clutch was a bit hard to get used to on the drive home and I stalled a few times... but apart from that it's been amazing so far! Miles above what I was used to with my corsa 😂 Absolutely in love with the colour and overall look of the car.

@Largoat , in terms of protection, did you do that yourself or get it done professionally? Thinking of taking mine to a local detailer and getting their new car protection and correction package. Also looking at getting at least a basic level of ppf installed, I'm terrified of getting chips and scratches on the paint.

@AntBoii Aparently it's the norm now for new cars to come without a spare wheel, and it usually means they have 'run flat' tyres, so you can drive for quite a while before needing to get them repaired

Hah, yeah I mentioned you to Keith. There was a red one parked up and I thought that was yours but he said you'd got the Shadow Grey.

I did the detailing myself. Fully protected the seats and carpet inside. Outside is all done too including plastics and wheels.
Would recommend a ceramic coating if you do want to get it done by your local. I just don't myself and use decent waxes and sealants.

Order mine in the same colour from Peterborough as well, looks great!

Assume you didnt have any issues with them as a dealer?

Oh nice! I'm a complete novice when it comes to cleaning and detailing so I think I'll leave it to the professionals haha, will definitely look into a ceramic coating. Do you think it's worth getting ppf or will the ceramic be enough?

Great choice! Yeah it looks amazing, always wanted a car in that colour.

Yeah I second what Largoat said, no issues at all with the dealership and Keith was great and very transparent throughout the process.

My last I30N was professionally ceramic coated and no complaints. It won’t stop chips but does reduce them. New one will get the same treatment.

PPF is expensive but if you have the funds then go for it. Never had it myself as can't justify the price.

Yeah the price is the main thing putting me off tbh. But I'm thinking more long term when it comes to selling.

For the record i couldnt agree more, unless you run an exotic. i track the crap out of my cars for the last 10 years and i can assure you its easier to take em in to get the front bar painted than worry about the plastic protection, which also failed on the first couple cars i bothered to have wrapped and then still needed to get the bar touched up. freshly painted by a professional shop is cheaper

i got chips on the front of my 2022 dct already from aggressive hills runs and a couple track days chasing mates. i dont sweat it anymore, when i get enough or it bothers me she'll be in the shop. usually costs me around 800 - 900aud for fresh paint on the nose. these cars are ment to be driven hard, a little rash is good :D

Hell, I'd drive to SA to get my bumper painted for $800-$900! I got quoted almost $700 to repair the below!
:(

PPF will be installed as soon as I get this sorted.

Oh I'm not planning on taking it easy by any means (once the break in period is over anyway), but ideally I wanna keep the paint in decent condition without having to spend a fortune 🙂

Big Mistake!

Repainting will cause an additional reduction in value. It’s easy to detect with a paint thickness gauge.

PPF for the front end, is far cheaper than painting. Quality of application is dependent on the installer. Find a good one and it will last the life of the car.🙂👍🇺🇸
