i30 N 2021 i30 N

The front rotors are totally warped by the end of the day, and need replacing. i was pushing the car very hard all day, however its not a heavy braking track, and i had no issues with prefacelift brakes.

Just interested to know if you did any bedding in of the pads before hitting the track?

i did yes, after the run in period. shes been for a few agressive hills runs as well

However after talking with a mate who is better with brakes than me today, its potentially the pads causing the issues.

today it feels fine, i took it up over the local hills pretty hard today and theres no issues at the moment.

I reckon il take them off and get them machined, see if they see any issues and throw some pagid pads at it and see what happens..

Start with the cheap options first.

I know its a bigger rotor on the dct due to the extra weight, but im curious if the metal is as good.. be replacing with aftermarket for sure.
Could this maybe related to the change in brake cooling? The Pre-FL directs air straight from the front into the wheel well. The FL should get the air from underneath the car, but I did not yet have the chance to take a look on how exactly it is doing that.

I've spoken to Hyundai UK and a few dealers. They're all saying 12-14 weeks (although one said 6 months 😂). My dealership also said they often come in earlier than the quoted 12 weeks. However, the sales manager has said that supply is starting to slow down so it could be more and estimates my car to be November. I ordered in July.

There's supposedly a problem with the system at the minute too so there are no build dates showing on orders, but I'm not sure that's the entire story.

Imo, I think the chip supply is starting to slow things down for Hyundai so they're being a bit sheepish when asked for dates.

TLDR, everyone says 12 weeks. Early orders came sooner but now more orders come in I think 12 weeks or more is to be expected.

I was quoted September when I placed my order in July. Now been told 'unofficially' that it has been delayed. Late October at the latest now.

I have a new car for last 3 weeks, dct pb, normal seats,18 miles on the clock, cost me £33.834, can't sell my beloved scirocco which i've had 12.5 years although over £1000 less than autotrader's rec' price, I regret buying my i30n now as it's only an attractive ornament whilst i still have my scirocco, I'd sell my i30n for what I paid for it.

Put it in the for sale section then?

you bought the i30n to replace the scirocco, now you cant find a buyer for the scirocco so you want to sell the new i30n?

yes crazy but one low mileage person, 2 cars is not good, I should have stuck with my scirocco, I'll surely sell my scirocco eventually? I've reduced price 3 times and had no interest and it's a fab' car, I know no one's going to buy my i30n but i would sell it just to have only one car again.....of course it's highly unlikely that someone is that desperate for a new I30n.

No one wants the scirocco because it's a Volkswagen... Quality used cars in Australia have increased by 20-30% in value due to covid. I will sell my Mazda 3 (much sort after) in November... Certainly wont be selling my new i30N because no one wants the Mazda, I will just be the owner of two cars. 😉

if my i30n is as good a car for me as my scirocco was then I'm eventually going to be very happy with my i30n, I'm not knocking the i30n, just frustrated at having 2 cars, I def' don't need or want 2 cars!

Cut your losses and sell the Scirocco on Motorway or Webuyanycar, second hand prices are high at the moment you might be pleasantly surprised.

yes much as i absolutely hate to sell to that Philip Schofield bunch of chancers, I may have no choice.

very stupid comment, who on earth am I trying to scam?

I said it 'almost' sounds like a scam -> too good to be true and all that.

You've literally come on a forum to post that you've bought a car you don't want, that you've not driven, and delivery miles only. I'm sure I'm not the stupid one in this scenario, but you're most certainly the rude one.

Mate, I'm just taking the piss. If I were you, I would keep trying to move the scirocoo to a new owner. The i30N with that sweet DCT is the best thing I ever bought.

yes of course but implying I'm a criminal is not rude...really?
