i30 N 2021 i30 N

On the Scottish leg of our road trip in the new N. Followed an enthusiastic local along the B9018 to Cullen - custom mode with suspension on Normal but everything else full on, rev matching etc. Had more fun in that ten minutes or so than the last two years in my Cupra!
Car is going superbly, wife loves it and has been nice and comfy as a passenger which is good to hear as well 😊

It will be worth the wait I think!

I hope so because my Fiesta ST goes on Monday so I'm sharing my wife's Puma until the i30N arrives. I think they were a bit optimistic with the delivery dates though, most dealers I've spoken to have said 6 months wait.

Have you tried motorline Hyundai Worcester they had a few left when I got mine recently?

I did. I was trying to work out a deal with them but they couldn't even get close to the deal I got elsewhere so I'll just have to wait.

Yep I ordered with Worcester and they told me 8-15 weeks when I put my order in a few weeks ago. Hopefully I'll get some news at some point!

Well, it's supposedly "release day" here in Australia, and I am yet to hear anything from my dealer. I presume no one else has been contacted yet?

I find this really wierd. Hyundai unveiled the i20N and I30N first in Australia and stated you guys would receive it first.
Fast foward to now, Europe already has both i30N and i20N on the road, but not in Australia 🤔

Australia seems to be slow at everything at the moment. Slow with the release of COVID vaccines, and slow with the release of new N models. Incredibly frustrating, particularly when our new i30Ns have sat at the dock for over 3 weeks without moving.

An interesting video attempting to explain the shortages seen in the world today.

Not to be happy about but it seems it's not one company or one country to be blamed but rather the 'efficiency' system that is in place for most industries , especially in the car industry, and its pitfalls.

I was speaking to a dealer on Friday (in the UK), after the initial delivery batch (maybe 100 or so cars?) there’s no future build dates available yet, so it looks like stock is going to be tight for a while.

The guy I was speaking to told me after the initial batch they're only made to order

Yep, but there’s no scheduled factory dates in the system going forward at the moment (according to him). Allegedly Hyundai are having a two week shut down in Korea due to lack of certain parts.

ordered my i30n dct pb on 23/06, got a phone call today from dealership to say car arrives with them on 27/07 (uk)...............................sorry you guys, I was hoping he'd tell me there were big delays so I could cancel order as very unsure I've bought the right car for me, I just bought for the look when I saw one over a year ago, I thought that's my next car, maybe too much of a driver's car for me? I'm a boring low mileage, slow driver.

Yeah that makes sense if it’s in the original batch. My local place won’t let me test drive 🙄 I know they’re expecting i20Ns to be delivered in the next couple of weeks too

In the latest instalment of my i30n purchase saga. My car is in the wrong state. Its in South Australia instead of Victoria. So at some point, it needs to be put on a truck and travel the ~750km to my dealer.
My dealer assures me this won't cause a delay. That seems like either a lie or a blatant indictment of how slow things are moving with the release.
