i30 N 2021 i30 N

I took it on a test ride and the door opened itself a little bit while driving.
Scared the s#%t out of me xD

Wait a second… It did open by itself or you had not closed it properly? Either way it’s a big no no, but I’m wondering how bad is it.

I "closed" the door but it didn't close properly which i didn't realize.
It only opened... I don't really know how to explain it in english, let's say until the "security lash"😂
So it would not open all the way up
"Just" like 5-10mm.

So it’s at least three of us now. Man, I was so confused when tried to close them quietly.
I think you'll find it is because the cabin is so well sealed (and has to be for a car that'll do 155 miles per hour). Mine has always been like this. There is a resultant pressure build up as you close the door so you need to pull it shut with a degree of intent. If you crack any window even just a little to relieve the pressure they shut easily.

I am pretty sure that this is absolutely not the reason.
Never seen something like this in a Porsche or AMG.
It's just not fitted well.
Also this would mean, that it was the same with all four doors what it's not.

I generally agree with this, but I gained my experience with driver’s window open, so your theory doesn’t apply on it. I guess we’ll all find out how the doors behave and I hope it’s coming very soon!

The door issue is real,
I closed it gentle and it remained open.

The fast solution it's to throw it hard 😂 (But in a 37k € brand new it's quite depressive).

The buckets seats are dope though!

Was this the case for the last generation too? I own an MY2018 i30 SR and have never noticed any issues with the doors. I hope this isn't something else to worry about, lol.

More importantly... Have any potential owners driven the new FL DCT/Manual version with the N-Light seats?
If so, are you able to please provide some feedback on what the seats are like.

I didn't drive the car, but tried the seats, and side bolsters are very very supporters, especially in the back area.

But the alcantara is soft, so a long journey must be comfortable. But If you gained a bit of weight after the pandemic like me 😂 you will feel slightly tight.

Thank you so much for the information.

Unfortunately I was big prior to COVID... I get a chance to test drive the new Mk8 Golf GTI on the weekend, I can only assume the seats will be some what similar.

Never heard anyone mention this particular issue with the first generation - does seem a little concerning that multiple members have now reported it with the facelift.
