i30 N 2021 i30 N

For my German friends here, I just had a call from the "Hyundai N expert in Berlin" straight from the head office.
His information regarding the N first hand from Hyundai is as follows:

Hyundai i20N earliest German release date is 3-4 months from now
Hyundai Kona N earliest German release date is 3-4 months from now

Hyundai i30N is awaiting homologation and will be sold right after ( noone know when it is done ).
DCT will be sold immediately
!!!!! MT will be sold 6 months later. !!!!!
The internal configurator is available, the public one is not.

His telephone is running all day long with N inquiries and it took him 2 weeks to work the "call back" list down to call me back.
so - do you think that is just for konfigurator or also for already bought cars?

Well, we don't know the exact words of the conversation. Maybe it is for manual transmission cars which are being ordered now. In the worst case you won't get your car before December, no matter if you already ordered it.
Did you order one with DCT oder MT?

they have cars in "vorlauf" which basically means they preordered them for sale, but from the information i received it means they will ONLY receive DCT cars and all manual cars are 6 months off once they can order

I'm pretty sure that it's not true. My dealer, for a manual one, said no more than 4 months but probably it will arrive in 2🤔

Edit: Dealer said that i could buy a car only before the 25/05. After that date he can't accept new orders for a few of week

i ordered a fastback with MT - and dealer said latest delivery would be september - wont need the i30 in alpine winter, for that i have an suv :p

I have an appointment on Thursday in berlin, wonder what they will say then ... everyone keeps telling different shit
Yeah, same. In Frankfurt (am Main) they already have 2 facelifted models but you can't test drive them. In Darmstadt they'll have some facelifted models at the end of this month but you CAN test drive them. It's ultimately confusing. I mean... Frankfurt is the way bigger city with waaay more potential to sell cars. I don't get it to be honest.

Since the dealers in Germany have to wait for the official registration info on the cars, the only thing they can do is let you test drive it with red plates. Which involves quite a bit of risk for the dealer itself. So I kinda understand some dealers saying test drives are not possible.

I've spoken with my dealer yesterday and my car is not only delayed until June 11th (production to be finished until May 29th or something like that - that was the initial arrival date for the car), but he has also expressed concern over homologation because apparently dealerships have no ETA on when that will become available.

I personally find this situation baffling. I have a car that arrives in less than a month (allegedly) and the dealership doesn't even know if I'll be able to get it, because the documents are missing. Honestly, I started reading the manual to keep the hype up, because I might forget that I've ordered anything at this point :p

I actually can imagine that the homologation causes problems for the availablity of the cars. If we are unlucky, they will stay at the dealers for months.

Wouldn't this be nice? Just like you found a 5 Euro bill in your pockets that you forgot about 😄
