I've been waiting since 2016-2017 for the DCT (since the original car was still in camouflage). I'd take the manual if it weren't for a permanent injury to my left arm. I can definitely relate to the frustration of waiting for what feels like an eternity.

I'm honestly at my wit's end with the lack of information and clarity on the release in Australia.

I'd be much less frustrated if they could just provide pricing and a release month, so at least I could prepare my finances and mentally lock it all in.

I hear you... it feels like only a couple of weeks ago when you said I wouldn't go the distance being able to hold out... (it was), I admit the wait is killing me! I'm becoming obsessed, OBSESSED I tells ya!

Let us hope that Hyundai don't use COVID to increase the DA cost above what could be accepted as reasonable!

Hopefully RHD production is very close behind or even simultaneous. After Germany, I believe the UK and Australia are the biggest global markets for the i30 N, so I imagine Hyundai will be keen to satisfy the demand.

Haha. I'm actually feeling much more confident about a late May / early June delivery now. I was worried production would stay in limbo for months and push out the release to the end of the year. Time to get hyped! Just need pricing now...

Yeah, I still think we are looking at a local launch in July (not wanting to be negitive). Yes, pricing would be good, along with final local spec's.

I just chased up an update on the delivery of my N, and was advised that the docking date (Freo) is now expected to be the end of May, which is a slip of a couple of weeks.

I have asked the dealer when they anticipate my car leaving the factory. It will be interesting to see if a get an answer, and if so, what it is.

Good luck (genuinely) with that, my buying experience was that Hyundai Australia isnt as forthcoming with details to dealers as they may have been in the past. Hopefully you get a reasonable response, it was immensely frustrating for me.

I can confirm that trying to get reliable and consistent information from Hyundai and their dealerships is like pulling hen's teeth.

The i30 N exclusively comes from Europe (Hyundai Nošovice) for all markets. The rest of our Hyundai cars (including regular i30 models) come from Korea, though.

I agree fully. One of my friends used to work at the dealership and I was left in no doubt, even before committing to the car, that little info is provided and then only at the last minute.

At the time of signing, the only additional information the dealership was able to provide, over and above that that was generally available, was that I could get a luxury manual without a sunroof. The day after I place my order (Dec 2020) the leaked info become available as to the general specs of each model. Still mystifies me, why they can't release the final specs now, as the cars are clearly being built. My guess is that mine should come out of the factory in the next few weeks.

Do you think this is a strategy car manufacturers use so their competitors don't get the jump on them. If Hyundai releases the specification to early then VW comes along and realeses a new golf with say 220kw for a similar price that could impact their sales.
