Good to know. I have a extra roll of Dynamat from when I built my home theater room so I thought I would use what I have left for the car. Since I'll have all the panels off anyway I thought it would make sense to deaden the road noise too.

Good to know. I have a extra roll of Dynamat from when I built my home theater room so I thought I would use what I have left for the car. Since I'll have all the panels off anyway I thought it would make sense to deaden the road noise too.
So...it took me 10 hours to install the upgrade (Pioneer Deluxe). I did everything all professional like. Rewired the tweeters and fronts completely. Instead of gluing the tweeters to the grilles I used a really strong tape made specifically for plastic - those MFers aren't going anywhere. Left the back speaker wire there, they sound just fine.
Hooked up the DSP (Pioneer DEQ-S100A2/with OTG cable for Android phones) - some things you should know:

For some reason, the EQ on the DSP is only operational if I have it plugged in to my phone (all I can do is use the remote to change the master volume). I want it to be operational after I unplug my phone (from the DSP) and plug it back into my car for Android Auto.
I know I'm not that stoopid. There has to be a way that I'm not seeing.
Hooked up the DSP (Pioneer DEQ-S100A2/with OTG cable for Android phones) - some things you should know:
- the wiring harness for the A2 version has the blue/white wire already cut
- you have to cut the red wire and isolate both ends - don't know why, says so in directions from Hyundai. Made my rear speakers a little louder but changed nothing else.
- the green wire for the parking brake needs to be spliced into the black power wire (you'll know, it's thicker than the others)

I'm inclined to think the red wire maybe the culprit. Does the amp switch on without the phone when the audio is on?
Hyundai said to cut and isolate the red wire in their directions. <I only cut it after I had to start the troubleshooting for my issue. All it did was make my rears louder, not by much.
Not an amp issue (unless I'm understanding you wrong, didn't connect it yet). If I can get the EQ from the DSP (sound processer) to work when the phone is plugged into the car I'll send the Pioneer sub back. Sounds good enough without it.

I don't like signing up for things I don't use. I'd rather resize them - takes 20 seconds.
What I tried didn't work. I'll troubleshoot tomorrow.

Found the problem...The Pioneer DEQ-S100A2 will only play the boosted EQ modes through their own app when the phone is connected through the DSP ONLY.
When played through Android Auto the only DSP functions available are to increase the master volume and mute.
Going to look for another DSP that saves my presets and works with AAuto. Any recommendations that will work with what I am looking for?
BTW: The red wire is for the ignition (Standard - not push button). The blue/white is for subwoofer control (for an aftermarket head unit).

Considering I haven't done a car audio install in 15 or so years maybe I should have...
How exactly does this work? There is no access straight up to the tweeters from below the dash. The only way there is via a hole in the side when the side pads are removed.
A photo would be great!

No photos I'm afraid, you need a long, thin piece of wood, feed up from the foot we'll with the dash end caps removed, look through from that end as you feed the stick in.
Okay - I tried that but I really couldn’t see how that works. It is a good place to see, but the angle makes it impossible to push on the cover? I’ll try again!

Haha - I’m calling it.
At the risk of being thought of as a loser, I cannot for the life of me see how this can be done. Either going in from the side via the end cap, or up from the foot well. I’ve tried a 4mm dowel and a 6x20 mm flat bit of wood.
From the side the angle is too shallow and the tweeter is in the way. From the footwell the wood needs to bend to reach the cover. I’ve even tried a wall snake length of plastic strip. Too bendy and same angle problems. Also worried about mangling the tweeter and or wiring.
I can get it up to the dash, but when I push the whole dash lifts up, and I’m pretty sure I’m pushing on the dash and not the cover.
I would seriously appreciate a pic of how it’s done. Please help a brother out it takes 60 seconds to pull off end caps

I translated the German - it doesn’t add anything that the pics don’t show you. But that’s enough, it will be a little fiddling with a trim removal tool like this below from the looks of it
