Exhaust- / Sound Discussion

I’m using Shell V power and my wife (who drives the car most) is making it pop etc all the time. Well, normally in 1st and 2nd Gear as she isn’t racing on her way to and from work!

My son was trying to watch the shift lights to see if there was a pattern but don’t think there really is. Could be wrong. There was definetly a link to the temperature wasn’t there, but I’m sure it’s not -10c where you are.....!!

maybe im not getting the rev high enough then

I’m the higher gears I think you do need to shift when the shift lights are at least half way along. Amber going to red. Well, in my car. I’m sure there will be differences between individual cars.....

Have you made sure the Exhaust is set to Sport plus if using N Custom?

Yes i have everything set to the highest setting in custom except the suspension.

Thought so. Not sure mate. Maybe you do need to shift higher. No harm in trying once you’re comfortable that your car is run in the way you want

I’ve found if you’re changing gear really quickly (dip clutch, selecting gear, release clutch) fast then it won’t pop, if you come off the throttle and are kind of blazay about it all and spend more time off the throttle while changing gear, then it’ll pop (my personal findings)

She bangs she bangs !! ....in custom mode engine ect configuration on max .and bliping it around 5k rpm job done ..:D:Dnow to upset the neighbours :p:p

I’ve played around in Custom over the past few days and found that the Engine needs to be also be set to Sport+ for maximum pops and bangs, not just the exhaust.

Yes I found that - thought my pops had broken for a day until I turned the engine response back up. Big relief and smiles followed

At the delivery of my I30N my dealer told my to put 98RON to fill the tank. I have all the noise needed at low and high speed even in the morning with cold engine. I never tried to put something else and it's working fine. Maybe one day with a long trip to do I'll try 95RON.

Hello guys, I have precisely a question about the pops and bangs. My car (picked up last saturday) hast 13,000 Km on it and it sounds good, deep and nice on engine Sport+ and exhaust on Sport+, too. However, no pops and bangs. I have driven aggressively over quite curvy roads, accelerating, rev matching and braking,... and no pop and bangs.
Does anybody else have this issue? If that is the case, how can I change it?

If you have N custom set to Engine Sport+ and Exhaust Sport+ like you say, then it should pop and bang. Try it in full N mode just to be sure and if it still does not do it, there's definitely a problem and you should take the car back to the dealer.

Okay. Already done that. Actually, I chose N-Custom so I could make sure the engine and exhaust were in the most aggressive set up. Still, very seldom pops and bangs. Will have to take it to the Hyundai garage so they tell me what goes on with it.

What climate are you in? I don’t think the exhaust likes very cold weather.....
