So I've been a long time lurker, even before I ordered my car in January 2018 I was already looking around on this forum. I wasn't planning on posting anything either as I don't feel like I've got something to add.
But I do want to say a massive thank you to all of you addressing this issue and making this topic

. My car had 6th gear issues, it locked it out from time to time. I was doubting myself whether it was me not being used to a sporty 6 gear transmission box or if it was actually the car. Unfortunately I didn't felt confident enough to actually take it back to the dealer, as it only occurred occasionally and thus made it hard to explain and let them feel/understand what the issue is. But after seeing this topic I made sent an e-mail and got a super quick response (was on a sunday)
After having let someone from the garage who owned an i30N test drive it he told me that it indeed feels a bit rougher going to 6th gear as with his own car. So we made an appointment to replace 6th gear.
It took a while to get all the parts, we even had to reschedule the appointment, but once I brought the car in I lost it for only 3 working days and I got a free replacement car.
When picking up the car they told me that 6th gear indeed didn't look that pretty anymore and also in the oil they found some tiny bits of metal. And Hyundai also instructed them to replace 5th gear, so they did.
Now that I got my car back for a while I can say the issue is resolved, 6th gear works absolutely perfect. And also 5th gear feels a lot smoother, even though I never had issues with that.
So long story short, thank you Hyundai for the great service and thank you all on this forum for giving me the confidence to take it to the dealer
