Had to help my uncle with buying some stuff today, he showed up in his brand new 1st-edition IONIQ 5!

Absolutely great car, lots of space and nicely thought out. Also, great modern interior with all the right things.

I had the pleasure of playing with some fun toys that my brothers-in-law have while I was down there - GR Yaris, Husaberg FE450 dirt weapon, Ducati Multistrada (wow) and the crowning glory - widebody R33 (with R34 bits) Skyline GT-R.

I must be getting old - the Skyline terrified me. 630 HP at all four wheels is just too much for me these days. I thought it was proper fast even before that Precision 62/66 kicked in for real. As you can see by the fuel system (and just on 98 pump fuel) this thing has a worse drinking habit than I do:

I thought my N would feel a bit lethargic and boring after all that, but no - it has that X-factor or je ne sais quoi (as the French would say) that those other vehicles just don't have. I still love her dearly. Good to be home.

I can vouch for how quick that 33 is, it is scary quick. I was taken for a ride in it once the engine and all the work was done, even before that is was a pretty quick car

Today we fitted some PPF onto the front. Unfortunately the finish is way off, although we already chose the 3M PPF to match the 3M wrap.
While my girlfriend was applying the PPF I took some measurements from our brake discs, because of some vibrations in the steering wheel around 120km/h. Unfortunately my apprehension turned out to be true, while there was a tumble of 0,07mm on the right and 0,10mm on the left... So I need to take off the discs tomorrow while hoping that it's a matter of dirt on the hub.

Did you put the PPF over the wrap? It's supposed to be the other way round - PPF under the color wrap film. Is the front fully wrapped in a matte color or is only part of it matte/satin? If it's all matte/satin, you have to use a matte PPF. Normal PPF will make the matte look "shiny" because it's intended for "normal" metallic colors.

Last time we did the front we placed a strip of standard glossy PPF under the color film, in front of the hood. The color film lasted 6 month, then it was perforated by stone chips like a sieve. So we did the front again. The problem is, doing the front over and over again will lead us to snapped clips and holders and finally to a new front skirt.
So we came up with the idea to put 3M matte PPF on top of the most stressed parts of the color film. Unfortunately the finish of the matte PPF differs from the finish of the color film, although both are 3M... In broad daylight it's not that bad, but it's still visible. Next we'll get samples of different brands matte PPF and see what's the closest shot.

I feel your pain. I suggest wrapping a small panel (fuel door size) with the same 3M color film and taking it to a few local wrap shops that offer matte PPF. Ask them to wrap part of it with matte PPF to see how it looks in comparison. Wrap shops always have small pieces of film left lying around so it shouldn't cost you anything.

I think we are the most local wrap shop ourselves :D I need to order samples today

Fitted the Forge induction kit at the weekend - been sitting in a box for over a week as had been busy with work & house stuff..

Then decided to give the car a wash as had been sat for 2 weeks not being used after the last wash it had 😄

Yes. Front suspension didn't feel so crashy over bumps (best way I can describe it).

Steering felt tighter on acceleration as well.
