I have a 2017 i30 and I'm thinking about soundproofing the doors and replacing the original speakers with FOCAL ones.

It will be a definite improvement over stock but the amplifier makes them perform so much better.

I can't comment on the bass sound without hearing that speaker combination. You need to visit a car audio shop and ask for a demonstration. The sound deadening material looks ok from what I can see. The doors are pretty well sound deadened to begin with in my opinion . A pioneer amp isn't very expensive. I'd prioritise that over the sound deadening.
The problem is that in my i30 (not N, normal 1.6 crdi) even with the original sound and bass at maximum there is a huge vibration outside the passenger door.
If I install new speakers or even an amplifier this should get worse, so I think the ideal would be to cancel the vibrations of the door before proceeding with anything.
As for the amplifier, I don't know how to install or tune it, as I didn't want to spend a lot of money using a professional, I had thought about just changing the original speakers for good ones from Focal, because on the i30 it's very easy to disassemble the doors and change the columns.

I don’t think the bass will be louder. Better defined perhaps but a more powerful amplifier would make a big difference to this.
