Racechip Development for the i20N

Piggybacks, don’t affect A/F ratios. There’s no chance of the engine running lean.👍🇺🇸
Please can you explain how that works?
My understanding is that piggybacks must either be increasing boost and/or fuelling to create more power, so must be able to affect A/F ratios.

Not going to get into a big technical explanation but;

First off, there’s no fueling wire. With no fuel wire to control sensor input and output, there is no adjustment of A/F ratio. So no change in A/F ratio. There's only one piggyback available that utilizes a fuel wire and that’s the JB4.

Personally I wouldn't run this particular unit, as it’s a multi-model tuner. (Same model used for at least four different cars.)

A piggyback is a sensor fooler, nothing more. It simply controls timing, so it’s not being pulled, permits higher boost and torque levels, within the parameters of the tuner not overriding ECU safety parameters. This is the extent of its operation.

They’re safe to utilize, because they do not override the safety parameters set in the ECU.👍🇺🇸
