Wheels Lightweight/Track Summer Wheels & Tires

My man! This is perfect thanks, exactly the answer's I'm after:)
No problem mate! Also if you are interested in some lighter rims there is a rims database on here aswell. Type rims database in search and on the first page you have them sorted and their dimension and weights written down :) GL with your choice :p

@r_anderson96 I have been in the exact same situation.

Ended up with Oz Racing Ultraleggera 18x8 wheels, in bronze . They also come in other colors and are very light and nice looking too ;). Will be put on the car in April.

For tires I have been torn between Michelin Pilot Sport 4 and 4S. Short summary: Both are great tires. If you want a little bias on comfort go for the 4, if you plan on going to the track regularly go for 4S.

For me it was the 4, because I want more comfort (but still sport tires).

As for dimenions, go for the 235/40/18. If you go for a 225/4018 the sidewall is shorter (4 mm).

Thanks man, appreciate it! And I had actually been drawn to those very wheels too! I think I'll be pulling the trigger on those with the PS4 tryes as I'll be swaying more towards comfort as well! :)

Basstard. That's the combo I've been looking at. Aww. Rather nice I have to say. Will look good on my PB coloured machine.

Just completed installing my new Oz Racing Ultraleggera 18x8 rims with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 (235/40/18). Cleaned the brake calipers at the same time.

Driving feel is just great. A little more comfort over uneven surfaces compared to 19 inches.

Total weight pr wheel is 19kg.

Here are a few quick cell phone snaps of the car:

What did you have before the Michelins? Because they Michelin PS4S is a really comfortable tyre compared to other UHP tyres :) i noticed that when i switched from PZeros imediatelly.

I had the OEM Pirelli P-Zeros. Went for the Michelin PS4 because of the less stiff sidewall compared to PS4S. Still very sporty feel and like them better than the OEM tires.

Not planning to track the car, so the PS4 is perfect for spirited (and safe ;)) driving on twisty roads and still some focus on comfort.

Yeah i like the tyre aswell, take care only in that when you will go for some spirited driving they will need around 5min to get up to temperature :D

Good point!

I was driving them at 9 degrees outside temp. After some "warm-up" driving around, they perform great with very good grip. Could do full emergency braking with no tendency to loose grip. Basically hanging in the seat belts.

Subjectively much better than my old Pirellis in low temps.

For anyone thinking that Michelin PS4 are inferior tires, they are not. Very competent and perfect if you want to balance a (little better) comfort with sporty performance.

Here is my summer daily, track, moon and Mars setup.
Motec Ultralight bronze matt 8x18 ET50 with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 235/40 R18 95Y
Enough room at the fenders to fit Pilot Sport Cup 2. Not so unimportant.
Btw are Eibach springs installed.
The complete wheel weight is ca. 18,2 kg – rim: 8,3 kg – tire: 9,8 kg – balance weights and valve/TPMS: rest

How did you get PS4S in 235/40 R18?

I don't know why, but in Germany (whole EU?) are the PS4S in 215/35 R18 and 235/40 R18 available since February or March. But only these two sizes in 18". Klick
My 235/40 are Made in USA with DOT 2319 (23rd week 2019)

Hi there, I'm in an Elantra GT Sport (1.6T i30) in Florida, USA.

I am wondering if 245/45r18 tires will fit on a 18x8.5 ET45 wheel?

Any help would be appreciated.

I really like bronze wheels. And I think the 18" wheel and tyre combo looks good on hese cars because you get that slightly chunky tyre appearance which suits these car.
