Kamyk's i30N PB Performance Pack

HDT has one of the cheapest airpipes on the market. And the quality is good even when one connector is grinded. They have the only inlet which is cnc milled.
Look at the airpipe prices of Forge, SXTH, Injen and what they all called. They are all much more expensive.
Ah nope! The Forge Motorsports Hyundai i30N/Veloster N Turbo Inlet Adaptor is; £136.49/. €153.89. Forge Motorsports Induction Kit for Hyundai i30N and Veloster N is; £262.49/€295.95.

Verses;

The HDT Intake pipe / suction Hyundai i30N 89 mm is; £203.28/€ 229.00. The HDT Turbo-Inlet Hyundai i30N aluminum CNC machined is; £221.03/€249.00.

You don't get a the large filter with the HDT only the intake pipe.

So, it's €454.84 for the Forge Motorsports setup vs. €478.00 for the HDT setup. The Forge Motorsport same setup is actually less expensive by -€23.16 and you get more with the Forge Motorsport combination as well.:)

Yeah but the HDT intake if fully 86mm from filter box until pipe elbow - 86mm-76mm and connector to turbo 76mm-57mm made of aluminium not plastic and looks way better than forge (even have gasket).

I didn't want to high-jack your thread with such a discussion, @kamyk155 .
What would be really interesting to know is if there is a difference between performance after ecu remap with stock and aftermarket induction.

The Forge Motorsports Intake pipe is; aluminum not plastic and 103 mm /4" in diameter from filter to Turbo inlet adapter. Where as, the HDT Intake Pipe is only 86/3.39" from airbox to Turbo Inlet Adapter.

The Forge Unit Turbo Intake unit is; 102 mm/4" from the aluminum intake pipe, narrowing to 3.25"/82.55 mm to the turbo. The turbo connector to adapter is; aluminum CAD machined aluminum and anodized.

These are the measurement differences between the two units along with price differential. However, it's what you desire that counts the most. I hope it works out well for you all the same.:)

Your prices are not correct @R Veloster N because you are missing the VAT.

Forge Inlet 184,86€
Forge Induction Kit 355,51€
So all together 540,37€ and that‘s more than the rest.

Also HDT has 89mm not 86mm.

R Veloster N - I didn't compare HDT to Forge.
My post was just seconds after yours - my dimensions compare was to gruppenzwang.
I know about forge big pipe and monster filter but I still wanted to have full cold air intake than big forge under the hood.
PS I thought that forge turbo adapter is made of some kind of plastic.....hmmm.

Felix - It will be hard to compare dynos with stock vs new intake.
Now I will have only possibility to compare new intake vs new intake with ecu tuning.
My first dyno was in one place and next week will be other place.

Gotcha that's the way of the internet. :)

No, actually the Forge unit is a high temp silicone just like HDT utilizes.

The only reason I bought HDT was advice from my service man - better buy now whole air intake to turbo than do a remap and then add pipe and turbo adapter.
I'm still thinking about Afe Takeda in the future.

Here's the original pictures when I got it. It's about an inch ID larger than you measure here. I've got 14' diameter forearms. I could stick my arm in and force my hand outside the other end. It's big no doubt.:p

Ok here I am again with new toys installed.
I gave my new puchased products to my technician and told him:
- I know they don't look too good.
His answer:
- Yeah, they don't look too good.
After mounting - he told me:
- They look really good.
My answer:
- Yeah, they looks really good.
😁😁😁
Here they are:

First ride with those parts - hard to say something.... until first fast start.
At first at 2-3k rpms I got a kick in the back and my head hit the headrest.
Tried two more times to start fast and I think it is working best only at 1-2 gear and about 2-4k rpms.
I can feel better acceleration on low gears. Gears 3-4 not much difference.
Generally - pleased but not 100%.
Now waiting for next week - ecu tuning maybe on wednesday (depends on next week panic because of coronavirus).

I'm thinking about some thermal isolation material to cover the pipe.
Anyone tried this ? Any links for good products ?

Yes and a very good idea. Standby I'll post some!! :)

This will get you started. :)
