Well...what a load of horse$hit you've been given. I rang up my dealer, booked the car in and off they went without any test drive. why don't you give a try to another dealer? After the above, I just wouldn't leave it to chance with guys like these.Well folks.

I would do that too, it really is each dealer do their treatment, unfortunately, because they should all be impeccable with every costumer since the i10 to the highest performance. I have dealt with some too, but in a minor scale and it is so sad the contempt they show and, some of them, the "jesus, another costumer, do i really have to get up?". Just go to another dealer of this "lucky shot" doesn't work out for you.Well...what a load of horse$hit you've been given. despite you having dashcam, what will you be able to do even if they rag it? it will just be a horrible feeling and a little sorry with some form of compensation.
also, I use resolver.co.uk and hyundai are on it. if you have further issues, I suggest you use it. it's also free. hope you get everything sorted asap!
simply contact Hyundai U.K. and make a complaint about the vehicle. It will then get sorted. If your dealer would like more information suggest they contact Motorline Hyundai Gloucester as they are now very knowledgeable on the subject is gearboxes...Well folks.
I walked into the reception area where a very stern-faced woman greeted me, with a. Good afternoon sir what can I help you with. I asked, is Steve here and she replied yes, he works in parts what do you want with him, have you ordered a part and if so what part did you order so I can bring it up on the computer. I kind of smiled feeling very annoyed then I told her of my sticking 6th Gear I replied can it wait until my next service which will be in another 4 months’ time she replied no that will cause more damage and at that I replied well I reported that fault to this Hyundai garage last year @ my last service and the mechanic told me my car is 100% no sticking 6th gear which I replied it sticks most of the time it does not stick frequently but it does stick.
At that I took a seat as I did not want to seem imposing or threatening which I was not either so sat I did then she says to me how often does the 6th gear stick I replied sometimes, then she said well you will have to leave your car with us next Wednesday for us to take it for a test drive I replied well it does not happen all the time so someone taking my car for a test drive may never experience the sticking 5th or 6th gear but I drive 250 miles every Saturday and in that journeys 250 miles I can assure you the 5th and 6th gear will stick, sometimes 6th gear will refuse to engage and it takes some force to pop the 6th gear in so I double clutch then it slides on in there. I was really amused when this front of house desk woman booked my car in and stated the following concerning my sticking my 5th and 6th gears we will order the synchronizer rings in, but if during our test drive the fault does not manifest itself during the test then we will not do the job it was at that point I pulled the piece of paper from my pocket and produced it to her she looked at it flippantly and kind of said yea and handed it back to me.
I then stated the obvious can you tell me when my car was manufactured by the VIN number because if you look at the bottom of that paper I handed you which obviously you have missed then you will se this fault only applies to a certain amount of cars and you Hyundai will know when my car was manufactured she replied sorry I can only tell you when it was first registered not when it was first time stamped with your vin number or date of manufacturer. Now that is amazing isn’t it.
So some numpty from Hyundai garage will be horsing my car up the motorway to find this sticking 5th and 6th gear lucky for me I have a dash cam so I must put it into pretend sleep mode but it will be recording away just to see what speed this person from Hyundai will be racing my good car or maybe they will put it onto a Roll Test Stand, lets hope it is the latter.
Anyway, sorry for the long speech but had to get it all in there I will write back next week in a shortened version to let you know if the job got done or maybe as Hunyadi says my car does not need the upgrade, which I very much doubt.
What can I do if Hyundai refuse to do this job for me I don’t want to mention dealership names here but is there anything else I can do if they refuse and tell me my car is fine? Thanks’

My mindset towards the 6th gear is it must not be as gentle as the other ones, so i engage how it supposed to be, a little harder to avoid any grinding, but not too hard to mimic a race or something. From 1st to 5th is a breeze though. Our gear box handles it fine as long as you don' star grinding gears all day every day.Mines sticks a bit until fully warmed up, it doesn't like to be rushed 5th to 6th, but I don't see it a problem on mine, mostly great once warm/hot.
Don't take me wrong, i think it should be soft on any gear, but as long as it's like this, i dont mind. The 2nd gear issue, again, just be knowledgeable of it and, for me, when it warming up i tend to be cautious with it and dont shift like crazy, however when warmed up, no issues at all sticking 1st to 2nd or 3rd to 2nd.I can't agree. I'm used to butter-like Honda transmissions. This Hyundai one is far from my experience. Second gear also likes to grind especially when cold. I met a guy who also owned N and he confirmed that 2nd gear grinded always on left turns what makes me think that engine/transmission mounting to the body is too soft. That's why I really appreciate the answer about powerflex stuff. It's not so expensive and I consider replacing stock one to stiffen the engine in the bay.
Not everything is perfect in any car. The other day was talking to a guy on a used dealership and a CLA 45 was outside, beautiful car (IMO) meanwhile he said "i would rather have your i30n than the CLA, for starters the ride is awful, at least on the back, its AWD so the tires if you want to be playful, are a rent and so he went on the complaints... long story short, every car as its flaws, just have to live it it when is "chronic"Yeah. It should be smooth and positive with easy or fast gear changes for sure.
