i20N - Reviews, General Discussion & Info

Stick up my ass about what? One YouTube clip? You don’t judge any car over something like that is all I’m trying to say, saying all ST drivers are going to be butt hurt over this is ridiculous, these cars aren’t drag racers, if you read the link I sent, it’s says overall the Fiesta ST is the faster car, but there’s nothing in it, but honestly who cares? both are great cars, just depends on what you prefer..

I think you’re confusing me with someone who cares which is faster, and who takes these kind of ‘races’ seriously in any format.

It is what it is. In this video the FIST got bested, not once but several times. All three were run in the rain so its a moot point. It’s recorded history.😃👍
Who’d have thought that the lighter more powerful car would be the quickest.

Is it?.. Why don’t you take a peek at the fast laps link I posted, gives a much more in depth comparison of the two, it delves a lot deeper than a car wow clip that’s for sure..

On three of the four tracks listed it is…so don’t really understand the point you’re trying to make.

This is all just arguing for the sake of arguing.

If the FiST was out and out faster on the drag then we'd all be waxing lyrical in here about how "straight line speed isn't everything", "it's all about the twisties" etc etc.

Everyone can read into things to suit their own agenda. I've seen reviews still preferring the ST, I've seen reviews saying the N is a viable alternative.
Almost everyone in this thread is going to take the side of N. I'm sure on the ST forum it's the exact opposite. Surprise, surprise.......not.

The cars are very evenly matched. Just get the bloody car you prefer and get on with it. Let's not have another thread turn into a bickering shitshow.

i20n 14.8 vs ST 14.9 that’s the end verdict..😂
😂.. I guess you didn’t scroll down lol.. what I found the most interesting though out of all those stats, plus it’s a little ironic, was on the Nurburgring, the Fiesta ST beat it by 6 seconds! If the N was supposedly developed there? Out of all the tracks thats where you’d think it would win? That time surprises the most..

Calm down mate you’re getting N-Raged..
Just take the L…🙄

Some odd numbers on that link - they have the Fiesta as the lighter car; and the slower car on all tracks apart from the Nürburgring (and slower 0-100, obviously). So how they come to the conclusion that it's the faster car is beyond my maths!

Take a look at the drop off for the N after 100, there’s also 10 different speeds, the ST won 7 of them, in the rolling acceleration it won all of them, it also won the 1/4 mile and half mile, and the N losing by 6 seconds at the Nurburgring is quite significant, i20N has better breaking though..

Pathetic🙄.. yeh I’m dying here lol, I guess you didn’t want to read the link I sent? It’s actual numbers, based on numerous tracks, not some crap drag race in wet, but hold onto that if it makes you feel good👍🏽

Granted, those times are on different tracks. Still, acceleration numbers, especially from a standstill, can me measured in just about any track, as long as they're taken on a level surface.
And looking at those numbers I don't see the same result I saw from this video, despite having been filmed in wet conditions (maybe the wet favours the I20N and its tyres).

What was the end verdict?

Incoherent? If you look at acceleration numbers, it's a win for the Fiesta. If you look at track times, which envolve chassis, suspension, brakes and such, it's a win for the I20N.

The end verdict is: choose the car you like the most, or that you feel has more to do with you and the way you drive.

I think track times at the Nurburgring have to be taken with a lot of salt - gaps will naturally be bigger on a 8min+ lap (work out the percentage instead of the time delta), but it's also an open track with lots of other cars going very different speeds... And that's before you factor in differences in weather/temperature with each run.

Functionally, I don't think there is much to say the i20 isn't the faster car, especially at non-autobahn speeds, but it is very close.

All this talk about Nurburgring lap times I only use mine to get to the gym and Morrisons…🤣
