i20N - Reviews, General Discussion & Info

You payed extra my friend without knowing, because in the final price of the car you bought, ford had inserted the extra money.
Now, take a look at your attitude. I presented you the facts with proofs as you asked, and instead of giving back evidence, the only thing you say is, i didnt pay extra i did not do this or didnt do that, without evidence or facts.
I guess you are a kid, who has no knowledge of what is going on in the background of industries, so its not worth it to try and give you some real knowledge.
So unless you can present something with evidence - proofs -papers( like i did as you asked for proofs) dont post things which are not true, because people who read this forum deserve to know the truth about products and what they pay for.

Here we go again.. Mate I’m bored with this now, I’ve got a 5yr Ford warranty, nothing in it mentions Ford protect or Allianz, if something goes wrong in that 5yrs I’m covered under warranty, that’s all that matters, exactly the same as when I had my Hyundai, or if I went out and bought a Toyota, and warranty’s are always factored into the cost, seriously you’re just sounding desperate now, I don’t understand what you’re trying to prove here? It’s just a warranty ffs, if yr happy with you’re engine and think it’ll last forever, then you just roll with that, I’m happy for you, because honestly I couldn’t give a shit, and I’m sure nobody else does either? I’m done with this..

Okaaaaaay.......we done now?

@gpaaa proof has been unequivocally given that 5year warranty in Australia is a thing. How you believe the owners "pay for it" is a moot point and frankly irrelevant to this forum.

This is a pretty good i20 N POV vid, from the 3r Feb. It seems to show the weird rev up thing on lift off only happens at shifts at/over around 5K?

Guy's driving is pretty good, on a 'road' which is mostly more country-like.

I also noticed it was only in the higher RPM's it did it. Pretty strange, but I think I can live with it.

I was playing around with the i20 N on the Australian configurator and it comes in about 36.5K, Australian $?? SO that's about £19K UK pounds???

lol don't ya just love our 'European prices' huh?
DB: Do you wish you stayed in Auzz? You'd have the weather AND a £19K UK price equivalent car :)

Yeah I paid $37,500 on the road (With a black roof, a full tank of petrol and floor mats). What do they go for in the UK?

Yeah we definitely have a great price! We only seem to miss out on the heated seats and steering, which most Australians will laugh at anyway! To think you poor blokes in the UK have to pay an extra £500 for the BOSE as well, when we get it standard is insane.

Depends on your base/non roof colour. Taking PB and a black roof, that would set you back £26320, which is ~ $50,360 AUS Dollars!
If you wanted BOSE, you'd add about ~ another 1,000 AUS dollars on top.

Of course, you don't get heated seats + wheel, but you do get front sensors + BOSE?

Yep, no wonder 90% of people in the UK don't own sub 3-4 year old cars, but finance them!
European cars are nuts prices.

Also, the KONA N in in Australia is about 51K, Australian $, for the premium with on-the-road costs?
For the UK price, that would be about 69K Australian dollars!!

It's typically European thing, not just UK.

The upcoming GR86 is 'expected' to be about £32,000....when in the states it's ~ 30,000 US dollars, which is about £22K! 'State taxes vary, but if you play around with configurators, it only adds a £1,000 max , UK money.

A GR86 for £23K Uk pounds? lol

17. Is the Ford Vehicle Warranty provided with the vehicle valid in
another country?
The Ford Vehicle Warranty is applicable to the Vehicle only if the Vehicle was sold for
use and is used in Australia.

Thats exactly what we are talking about. Its provided by the ford dealer , who acts with allianz company to provide the non mother company warranty.
If it was mothers ford warranty, it would be applicable in every place where ford sells vehicles.

My honda warranty is 5 years, where 3 years are given from honda, and i can repair my car in every place honda sells civics, and other 2 years are applicable only in Greece because it is arranged between honda greece and interamerican company..
It is more than clear in page ten. Ask your dealer.

Five years, unlimited kms, factory warranty. Enough?

Seems the other guys have moved past it. Probably for the best to stay on topic now 👍

hi
I have done 600km so far , I'm finding the car seems to lack power I am not to good on the rpm and gears combinations.
I drove a sti v5 before I'm not getting it right in the i20n maybe I'm babying it to much and paying attention to the recommended gear change icon.
I'm falling into holes in power when following gear change icons, maybe i'll get it

Pretty sure the green gear indicator just lets you know you're at sufficient revs to select that gear if you want it. I.e. at 4000rpm in third, it's safe to shift to 5th (maybe it shows 6th). If you're driving hard, you're gonna want to ignore the green icon!!!

^this. If you’re driving hard, onto thing you need to ‘look’ for is red line. Just put your foot down.

yeh drove my sti 20 years never lacked power in any driving condition, to much info happening I’ve turned a lot it off,
I’ll try ignoring the gear change recommendations and just drive the bloody thing, it’s a pain all the crap going on I never liked PlayStation either.
maybe I’m to old school

It doesn’t lack power, as such, you’ve just driven a totally different car for 20 years, and it takes 5 minutes to-relearn what the car does and doesn’t like. I’ve changed over from a manual i30N, to a DCT and drive Nobby’s i20N. They drive differently, just learning what they do and don’t like and how to get the best. Once your run in is done just red line through the gears and you’ll find those sweet sports, it does need a touch harder driving.

I agree on the dash. It’s quite a lot of stuff going on. I just prefer my analogue dials 😂 And why put the speed smaller than the gear?!

i guess you’re down 100bhp or so on the sti? so it’s naturally going to feel different. The power delivery will probably also feel very different, with the i20 being much flatter so you won’t get the feel of a turbo kicking in and ‘going to warp speed’ as much. As others have said though, you’ve gotta drive the i20 much harder than you think and really stretch those gears out. It some respects it will just feel like a ‘normal’ small car until you probably get it into 2nd/3rd gear and do a pull beyond 4000 rpm.

you can configure the N menu on the infotainment screen to give you a current power reading so you’ll be able to get a feel for how much power you’re actually using when driving.

My second drive is a diesel with a heavy duty clutch, Strinbauer chip and mandrel bent exhaust.
I know the i20n will take a different driving approach I can’t wait until it’s run in then I will stick the boot in above 4000
