Brakes Brake Upgrade Discussion (Discs / Pads / ... )

As of yesterday, my brake discs got to the end of their life after 37k km (1 year 9 months).

I changed the original pads 1 year ago at 5mm (worn those down in some TFs and 2 hours of Slovakia Ring track day). I installed the Hyundai rsl29. Since then in 3 full days (trainings) and a few TFs I did maybe 50-55 laps on Nordschleife. Most of them not cooled down properly just roll out on Döttinger Höhe.

The pads are still not fully worn down but with how the discs look but now - sadly we have to part ways. I do get a lot of vibrations that I can't even clean with braking anymore, not that it matters with the disc condition.

I have a set of original discs I'm thinking to use - all in all they lasted decently considering I have no extra cooling and couldn't do very careful cooling after every use. Pads are a problem as always, I was happy with how the rsl29 did but I can't find them anymore so maybe the new so called Hyundai performance (nexd), maybe ds2500 (khm, at least they look metallic and not coloured so not obvious)... will have to decide quick as I have a scheduled TF weekend with friends in 2 weeks...
I considered a BBK that would do better with heat and maybe even have better pad availability, but man as a regular person it's painful to think of 5-6k cost.

How you guys doing with your brakes, you happy and what do you use now with what usage profile? if anyone feels to share.
Yep that looks like worn out and cracks from overheating.
The i30N do have vents leading to the breaks, but not directly, rather indirectly, Hyundai has tested them in wind tunnel and on Nurburgring.
However what you need are bit more stronger Discs and Pads, 50 rounds of Nurburgring a day?
Yea thats basically using all of the Discs and Pads all at once.
I usually dont do more than 3 laps (due to Adrenaline rush getting the better of me) but the OEM I used have held they ground in both Traffic and on the Track.
However I will go to some more capable break kits with more better designed Discs and Pads.
Like Tarox for example
But for my stop gap I got Brembo Primes installed on mine and will test them myself on Nurburgring the coming next week.
Alongside the P0 PZ5.
Bit of a weird combo but I will see how it goes.
But in your case, do get some more better ones with more higher quality, perhaps even ceramic ones if you break that hard each day.

Ahh, no, that's a total of laps not daily. The most I did was yesterday, 19 laps, between 8am and 4pm :) I am thinking of options, however I may just get something in a hurry now that I can use and maybe think on longer term next year... proper solutions require a lot more consideration usually, not a lot of well known plug & play, maybe except bu11et standing by his dba 4000 t3 clubsport strongly :) (not even sure off the top of my head if those are available in 360 size)

rsl2: even worse on road and i don't want to change brake pads several times a year. once in a while it's ok to experiment but being my only car if i can't get something off i can't just leave it there for days until i think of something. The trick was that these pagids had r90 (and apparently good enough so far).

I certainly wouldn't be happy with the disk cracks you have. Make replacement a priority
Scheduled for next Wednesday, I'll just stick to going to grocery store and office in grandpa mode... I'll just use the stock discs I already have and see what pads we can find for now, and think of long term later. :) maybe I should research at least additional brake cooling effectiveness soon ish.

Getting Break cooling will only increase it so much and would be not a efficient use of your money.
Perhaps investing into some Ceramic Discs/Pads would work for your Driving?
