Bluespark Tuning Box

Forge motorsports car make 248bhp with racechip gts. (With uprated Intercooler and intake) It ran 215bhp without the GTS on.

One guy on one of my fb groups made 244bhp with just pipercross induction kit and racechip GTS.

Heck my car made 214bhp with no box on and my mods
My car made 233bhp with JB4 box and my mods and that wasent even developed on a i20n so it no where near optimised.
I have a racechip GTS waiting for me to fit when i can be arsed and it will be getting dynod. I expect it to easily make 240 when dynod with it on.

Racechip have dyno results of there car with the gts on. It made 242PS
What dynos are you even running this to get a 20hp difference from car jackals and JP Performance? Of course forge and racechip will show higher hp on their "results" they want to sell a product 😂😂 you only checking your hp in the car dyno? mine shows 218hp like I said and I can tell you the pipercross intake is a lot better than the forge one with the elbow, I've used both and the forge is slugish

You can check the video they have doing 100-200km/h the time it takes is not for a 242hp car, it's more like 225 - 230hp a 245hp Golf 8 GTI has around 16sec 100-200, with a much higher weight so no way their dynos are calibrated

Only stating the figures. And most people who dyno there cars in the UK with GTS on get very similar results 240bhp ish. Ofcourse i only check my bhp on a dyno, i have no other way of doing it.

I dont know about them 2 you stated as i havent heard of them or seen anything off them.

I have the forge elbow, i find it alot better than the oem one, but i dont run a full intake, i keep the oem box with a itg filter in it.

Ideally youd want the same car. Couple of laps of the track with gts off.
Then turn it on and do the same. Then compare lap times. Then youd be able to get a sense of real world results.
Figures generally mean nothing.

Obviously the dyno only shows peak power. That 242bhp may only be there for a few seconds of the power band

I'm not doubting you I just find it weird that with the racechip there are different results.
This one is from this video:

And from this video he's saying he gained 20hp instead of the advertised 31hp:

Rolling acceleration tests
Under my very long experience in car Rally races, I propose to all of us, to try the following test:
move on a rather flat street with the 3rd speed selected and
starting from 60 km/h get into FULL acceleration up to over 110 km/h
while you see the speed touching/ passing the 80 km/h mark START the timer!!!
while you see the speed passing the 110 km/h mark STOP the timer!!!
Do it some times and take the average time for the 80 to 110 km/h acceleration!!!
This is an excellent performance test for your engine and the real performance of your car in a twisty road! (or in twisty a special stage in a Rally!)
For the i20N, based on its gearbox ratios, this test's rpm range is from ~3700 to 5100!!!
This rpm range is a "real world" rpm range ("real world" is mining conditions and engine's usage during real fast driving)
So:
Do this test with your i20N without activating the program/ tuning box and, then, do the same test having your program/ tuning box activated!
The differences between the average acceleration time 80 to 110 Km/h in the tested cases tell you the thuth about your engine's evolution stage and, mainly, for your car's real fast moving skills.
If you have enough time to spend, you could test the other measurement of equally high importance:
The acceleration test (similarly executed as the previous acceleration test from 80 km/h to 110 km/h in 3th gear) from 100 km/h to 140 km/h in 4th gear (rpm ~3600 to 5050), or, even better, the acceleration test from 110 km/h to 150 km/h in 4th gear (rpm ~3950 to 5400)!!! (of course is difficult to execute these tests in higher speeds...)
Tests like the above described are a lot more related to the real perfomance of a car on the road than a dyno test on a possibly not well calibrated dynamometer.
The best way to evaluate and compare your original engine's performance against your engine's performance after the application of a program/ tuning box is to combine the dyno test (as a measured performance guide) and the rolling acceleration tests on the road!

The standard i20N seems to have a rolling acceleration from 100 to 140 km/h in 5.1 sec in 4th gear!

I just got it, so it's safe to set it to "E" right away? like this: (also here's a 10% discount code if anybody wants to buy one: TAF185
I would let it to default setting (C) and drive the car with it for a while. Even in default setting you will be able to see improvement. Later with the use of better fuel, i would move it to E, although for B roads, car is more than good.

The car is a lot faster and different with the box for sure! It accelarates way faster, great purchase and it seems like it's wasting less gas on normal mode since it's not bogging down as much on low rpm

So... The first dyno told me:
Program E
Power at the hub: 230 HP (I guess that the measure gives results in HP than in PS) at 4700 rpm!!!!!!!!!!
Torque: 37 kgm at 4300 rpm
Unfortunately the gasoline was BP 98 RON and not the 100 RON!
The dyno specialist that it is expected more than 5 HP more power with 100 RON gasoline.
Program C (the default)
Power at the hub: 218 HP at 4700 rpm!!!!!!!!!!
Torque: 35 kgm at 4300 rpm
Program 0 (less or more the mode of the car itself
Power at the hub: ~198 HP (I guess that the measure gives results in HP than in PS) at 4500 rpm!!!!!!!!!! (???) and 197 at 5800 rpm...
Torque: ~32 kgm at 4300 rpm
Not bad at all...

On the other hand I am NOT pleased with the gears' ratios...
They are fulishly LONG and and the car's engine revs in relatively low rpm after the gearbox change to a higher gear-ratio, so for some tehnths of a second, you fill NOT enough accleration!!!!!!!!

We will see...

Hi Αντώνη,

Do you have any diagram available to check the curves as well? If available..
Thanks in advance,
Dimitris

That's s problem with turbo lag, if you change the intake you won't feel the lag between shifts

Tuning boxes inrease turbo lag during shifting. First thing i noticed, when i instaled a tuning box.

I noticed the opposite
based on the working principles of the tunning boxes, there is no way to decrease turbo lag, as you need extra time to alter the signals to the ecu and more time the ecu to adjust the new values. Only by real ECU tunning we can decrease turbo lag.

Yooo guys hello!!! I want to order one tuning box but now i see two options for our car. Can you help me please?? which one did you order?? And can you please tell me how much did the courier cost and delivery time?? thank you.
