i30 N 2021 i30 N

You should read a few tests on the 128ti, than your doubts would soon be gone.
To sum it up for you: it looks good, but the driving really sucks: very hard suspension and not composed at all.
That is litterally the opposite of the i30n.
And, in the end, what is the most important? Driving a car that makes you smile everytime you drive it, or driving one that has a nicer interiour but isn't nice to drive?
I must say, I've been driving my N for over 80k now and I never looked at my interior. To busy enjoying myself 😁
Couldn't express it better than you did.
I had my BMW 335d before upgrading to i30n DCT. And it's an upgrade for me - had a blast on the Tuscany roads this weekend, smiles, giggles and 100% fun. Grips and turns in better than BMW. Never looked at the interior and as you have said was too busy having fun!

First time with 2021 I30N 8DCT on the track :) best lap was 1:03:004, for comparison Nissan GTR (600HP) best lap was 1:03.000... just 0.004 faster than me :D

Looks great fun, glad I went manual though that just didn't seem to appeal to me

Apparently head office are undergoing final discussions regarding the launch
Meanwhile, in Poland, the cars are in the hands of happy owners and are being launched for real on track as per @rogalike's video above. Pretty embarrassing and pathetic situation for Australia really. The horse has bolted on the world stage but HMCA still feels the need for the champagne cork-popping fanfare before you lot get your cars. Yawn 😩

Well said that man, well said!

Some thoughts on my PW manual hatch after 9 days of ownership. First i30N I have owned although test drove the first one in 2018. Coming from 2 years in a Leon Cupra dsg. The Cupra was a very good car, almost too good if that makes sense. Was fantastic on motorways, quiet and quick - just a very sterile driving experience given it was meant to be a hot hatch.
Anyway, the N is just brilliant - the main thing is it's FUN! Even running in with the rev limit it's fun and playing with the different set-ups is easy. Main things I have noticed are: the steering is very communicative and way better than the Cupra. It's good to be back in a manual and like the short throw of the gear lever and the feel of the action. Tyres - too soon to push them but no complaints so far. Wheels are just awesome. The info available such as tyre pressures etc really handy and well thought out. The infotainment system is nice and clear and works well, decent sound system. Obviously the pops and bangs are great and appeal to the inner child in me but definitely add to the driving experience. The car has a very 'chunky' feel to it which is what I like and missed in the Cupra.

No real complaints - the turning circle is taking some getting used to and the smaller fuel tank will mean more stops for V-Power but no big deal.

Overall really happy with my choice and looking forward to hitting the 600 miles :)

Now I know what you mean regarding the turning circle. Just seen this video, he mentions the exact same at 22 minutes:

I would need to get used to that too

I see Hyundai put out a new video for the i20 N
(yes I know this thread is about the i30 N). Some interesting things I noticed about the video in relation to differences between the i30 N and i20 N is the digital instrument cluster and what seemed to be adaptive cruise control.

I was considering the i30 N Line for quite a while because I thought the interior and digital instrument cluster were very nice (better than i30 N) and it had adaptive cruise control. If those features are coming in the i20 N (digital instrument cluster is different than i30 N Line), how long do you think the i30 N will take to adapt them? As an Australian who cares about some of these features and have pre ordered an i30 N with no new info about release dates, waiting for a new model is a consideration.

Latest development in the saga that is the Australian release.

The standard Australian plate does not cover the holes circled in red. And because of the camera placement, in orange, can't use a cover panel the thickness of that, plus the plate thickness will start to cover the camera.

Wonder what they will do to fit plates? Ironically I wish they had left the camera where it was as I have noticed more water droplets on the new one

speed-holes?
I'm of the opinion that I just want my car. I will 3D print plugs for the holes and they can send me the official fix part when ready.

Just embarrassing that in a car with this price point, I will have to "fix" such a idiotic design oversight.

I know it's not a porsche, but I never thought my car would have holes in it.
