Bigger lol.
The dbilas pipe is 90mm, can't recall oem size (76mm?).

I plan on gold wrapping it and then fitting the Forge inlet elbow in the foreseeable future which is to suit 102mm(4") tubes so will require a bit of fettling. I think a standard 90mm i/d silicone coupling with a 5/5.5mm wall thickness will marry them together nicely.

Gruppenewang do a 76mm elbow which should marry up to the dbilas

dbilas do their own elbow as well but it cost the same as the main air pipe!

Forge is much cheaper. Hoping there might be some Black Friday or even Xmas deals on the Forge in the next few weeks.

@TarmoT suggests keeping the stock air box, a ram air snorkel and a solid intake pipe. The stock intake pipe has these bends and flexible spots for when the engine moves under acceleration. If a solid intake pipe is installed to the stock air box, will something break as there is no flex anymore?

Why would you want to introduce an offset into your intake if it’s possible to connect them in a smooth way?
 
What is the smooth way?
There is no offset with that type of silicone connector - it will just give decent amount of movement for air pipe when engine moves back and front again.

I meant smooth as in no hump i.e. a smooth inner surface of the hose.
 
Dbilas intake pipe is here and quality looks good. Need to heat wrap it and will report back on fitment once fitted.

Also managed to snag a used Forge Turbo elbow and good news is that by replacing the Dbilas supplied reducer with a 102/76mm straight reducer and 102mm o/d hose joiner means they should fit together perfectly.......hopefully!

Installed one of these kits as well. Quality is superb, fitting is precise, sound is awesome. These guys also have or soon to be available an IC kit that’s complete bolt on zero cutting. Also a turbo upgrade in the pipeline.

So you're going from the turbo side (I think it's around 63mm) with the Forge elbow up to 102mm and then with that reducer back to 76mm for the dbilas pipe?
I don't know if that's very good for the air flow.

I still can recommend the HDT pipe. It's all the way 89mm (bigger inlet in development). Plus you have big hoses on both sides so no problem with moving engine.

Thought of buying Forge stuff on upcoming Winter Sale but after reading all this thread again I will stick to OEM Box, snorkel and HDT pipe (with inlet when finished). I think this will be the best solution in terms of performance.

Not fitted yet.

I take your point about the bottleneck reductions but its no worse than the standard bottle necks or people running a 4in intake pipe straigh onto the stock turbo elbow. I'm just going for an OEM+ solution here. I'm not expecting miracles!
The Dbilas is only 76mm at the connection and quickly opens out to 90mm all the way to the airbox.

Also I'm not sure what the obsession here is about engine movement/flexible hoses. Almost every aftermarket intake kit on all car marques do away with the OEM flexible portion and replace it with standard silicone couplings. Have done for years.
I've had them on plenty of other cars. Never heard of any issues.....

Have you also checked the gruppenzwang intake pipe? They also have two different turbo inlets available.
