Has anyone experienced this kind of ticking/rattle sound that follows the engine RPM?

Video recorded with driver's door open (but the ticking can also be heard even with the door closed):

Video from engine bay. With stereo headphones I can hear that it is louder on the right hand side of the engine when looked from front to back:

i30N year 2020.

I guess it could be injectors, timing chain, high pressure fuel pump, evap purge valve? Any ideas?
Note: Mechanic initially diagnosed the high pressure fuel pump as faulty. The HPFP was replaced and the sound did not change.

I have tried to find youtube videos with the same sound but so far there has only been one video where I can clearly hear the same distinct ticking sound.
There are so many videos where I cannot hear this ticking sound so it seems to be some kind of a developing issue.

Another mechanic will investigate this soon.

Current diagnosis: The clearance is too high on the exhaust valve that is closest to the right side of the engine (when watched front to back). This explains why the sound is loudest on that side. Something is worn/broken there.

Take the cam cover off and have a look.
Clearances were measured with cam cover off so next step for the mechanic is probably to remove the timing components before removing the exhaust camshaft to look closely what is going wrong above that one exhaust valve.

Yo maaan, did you find the problem? That was the problem with? I have the same same same problem, I was at my dealer they replace the HPFP but the sound it s the same and now, I want to go back to show the video with your car and maybe with the changing parts that s you changed, at least to make a control at them. I cannot drive anymore ((:)

Yeah problem was found and fixed. The car is running perfectly now.

Lifter buckets were worn on the bottom side. All 8 exhaust valve lifter buckets were replaced. Only a few were worn but the rest were replaced too as precaution.

Timing chain, chain tensioner etc. were also replaced with new parts as extra because those need to be removed before the lifter buckets can be accessed.

Here is a picture for reference:
(this is NOT the exact part for i30N, just some lifter bucket picture from google that seems to be quite close to what the i30N part looks like)

Feel free to ask if you need more details.

Did you make it on warranty or did you pay by your self?
