i30 N 2021 i30 N

Ordered a FL with DCT a few weeks ago. Dealer quoted 3 months for delivery. A different dealer said similar but in their experience they were often coming in a lot earlier than expected.

Anyone recently ordered and have an idea of delivery times? I have asked the dealer I ordered from but they aren’t being very helpful…

I've spoken to Hyundai UK and a few dealers. They're all saying 12-14 weeks (although one said 6 months 😂). My dealership also said they often come in earlier than the quoted 12 weeks. However, the sales manager has said that supply is starting to slow down so it could be more and estimates my car to be November. I ordered in July.

There's supposedly a problem with the system at the minute too so there are no build dates showing on orders, but I'm not sure that's the entire story.

Imo, I think the chip supply is starting to slow things down for Hyundai so they're being a bit sheepish when asked for dates.

TLDR, everyone says 12 weeks. Early orders came sooner but now more orders come in I think 12 weeks or more is to be expected.

I ordered mine in mid may (PB, manual, N-light seats), estimated delivery 90-120 days. The wait continues…😤

OK, so after much deliberation over the seat gate saga, I decided that no car is perfect and will go ahead with the purchase.

I ended up putting my big boy pants on!

I pick it up this Saturday!!!!!!! Getting a rather excited.

Congrats on the new car, hope you've been loving driving it. Really glad you got something you liked.

Thanks mate, every time of driven it I walk away with a smile on my face. I have only just done 287km, so still in the run in period, but it gets up on go's when asked! Only grips, TPMS has a serious issue and a bit of wind noise near the drive side door. Both will get sorted by the dealer.

I wonder when the car can be ordered again... in germany we can't order new cars anymore. Have never seen that happen before with Hyundai cars, the configurator was always available and now it is locked again after being available for 3 months!! I wonder if it will be locked until may again...

That's very bad news, I think there is another shipment heading to Australian at the moment. I guess the chip shortage has caught up with everyone. I just hope that any TPMS sensor(s) that need replacing are in stock, and I don't have to wait due to the friggin chip shortage.

Good luck, I hope you can order soon.

Yeah my dealer said he's checking every other day if he can order. He even called the german central in Offenbach but they also have no clue when we can order...

I ordered on 29th June! I was told between 8-15 week wait but havent heard anything from my dealer. I'm expecting a call in the next couple weeks to give me a more accurate date but didnt really want to bother them (I might just for peace of mind).

Its 7 weeks today so looks like I may need to wait until mid-October until mine is delivered from what you're saying.

Hi,
so I also ordered my N, in white, with manual, and electric seats (I'm more for convenience).
An order was placed on 12.8.2021. The expected delivery date is 28 weeks.
Now only 27 weeks 🙃

Maybe something will happen and the car will be delivered to me sooner ...😏

Hello all, long time since I posted but also have an order placed this week: DCT + seats in Dark Knight.

Been told October build date and expected on the road in December, but I hear they are moving to November build dates from this weekend. This is from UK dealer.

Very frustrating, I sat in one in that exact configuration this week, in the dealer’s showroom in UK ready to go!

That is an insane wait time. I couldn't wait that long for a car. I was told a similar time when I tried to order a MK3 Focus when they arrived and then an M2, I ended up just buying an M140 instead. The 14 weeks I've been told is bad enough but there's just nothing out there that interests me like the i30N so I'm just trying to be patient. No idea how you're dealing with a 28 week wait. Hope it arrives to you sooner.

first track day done in dct.

The bend East, max temp 20c sunny and dry with a 20kph wind.

N mode with ESC off, manual shifting mode.

Bit of a report below if your interested.

TLDR : Outstanding performance, need to replace rotors, temps are fine.

DCT worked perfectly all day, i am still torn between how good the manual is, but this dct really is the business, and the ability to left foot brake more often and gain some ability to maintain more control of the car the DCT works well for me.

Oil temps were great all day, no issues at all, I was doing about 15 min sessions.. max temp was 125c for the whole day, coolant barely moved at all.

The brakes were very confidence inspiring and easy to push hard. car would start to rotate into oversteer on brake into corners at full tilt but it would do so consistantly and i ended up using it to help rotate in the faster corners.

The front rotors are totally warped by the end of the day, and need replacing. i was pushing the car very hard all day, however its not a heavy braking track, and i had no issues with prefacelift brakes.. so thats something to be aware of. I know its a bigger rotor on the dct due to the extra weight, but im curious if the metal is as good.. be replacing with aftermarket for sure.

pads started dying right at the end of the day as well and omg dust.. soo much brake dust. I usually like to see dust as its a bit of a rudimentory way to know the pads are wearing instead of the rotors, but since the rotors are now dead i need to replace them anyway which is mildly annoying.

I didnt use track sense shift, as i had it in manual mode all day.

NGS is a nice trick on the street, not sure if it did anything on the track and i quite frankly forgot about it fairly quickly.

the gearing of the 8 speed combined with the flatpower motor allows strong performance even in the middle of the rpm range and i found myself not needing to rev it hard at all. I thought i felt it pulling power a bit, but i ended up chasing a AMG C63 around and it changed my mind as it does seem to keep up well with much more expensive cars, i think its just how linear the power delivery is.

Power was adequate. and thats a huge compliment coming from me. i am very impressed with the motor, power everywhere.

Steering feel was great, could read the front grip well, .. not much more to say there.

suspension was a stand out performer.. not once did i feel like i needed a better suspension setup, i ended up pumping some ripple strips chasing lap times and it took it well, handled weight shift direction change well. could really use some front camber control but excellent all round. aethetics wise i would like a bit lower.. but meh.

if you have any questions please ask.

EDIT : Just putting a note here, i think the disks are ok, investigating wether its the pads.. im gonig to leave the above how it is as its how i thought at the time and showing that i think is important.

Outstanding work. Not sure ill ever push mine to the limit, but great to know were the package is lacking and where it's not. How many km's dose your DCT have on it, and did you run the standard Pirelli's, if so how did they hold up.
