i30 N 2021 i30 N

if that is the case, there are two many boxes that go un-ticked. I'm going to wait until official specs are released, but it's getting to the point that I would rather wait and buy something else. No great loss at the end of the day.

Unfortunately I think the specs are settled! I've attached the Australian specifications. Mine is the "Premium with Sunroof" (DCT only).

I have my VIN and have confirmed via the Hyundai Global Service website that the seats are the N Light bucket style.

Sorry to be a downer! The N Light seats are apparently very comfy and look great, though.

"The company will use N Day as a platform for sharing the N brand high-performance philosophy, introduce the new brand claim, make news about upcoming N models, and talk about its future e-performance direction. This part will be presented by Thomas Schemera, Executive Vice President and Head of Customer Experience Division."

Nice! Maybe we get some info about Ioniq 5 N.

Agreed! Even though they're not as much adjustable as the Lux ones, they're really designed and tested out greatly.

I must admit I was looking to buy the outgoing model for the longest time. I even said that I don't care about the DCT because I want only a manual car.

As soon as I saw the seats I knew the FL is the one I was going to buy, and even went for the DCT 😅😅

In Romania they don't have different options you can choose from in terms of features, you can only choose between Non-Performance and Performance and Manual or DCT.

As for the features, we have all of the ones mentioned in the Premium section, but I'm not so sure about the N Light seats and we definitely don't have the sunroof.

Here the seats are called N Seats and on the Hyundai Romania website it shows a photo with the N Light seats and states "i30 N is equipped, for the first time, with "N" seats for front passengers, which offer better lateral support and are available with leather upholstery and "Alcantara" material, respectively.".... I don't know why say "for the first time" if they are talking about the same seats from the 1st generation.

I can only wait until mid-May when my care is due to arrive :D

At this point I'd happily settle with them providing news for already announced N models. :p

I'm beyond sick of waiting just to know how much I need to pay for my pre-ordered car. Driving me bonkers.

It honestly feels like Australian folks interested in buying the i30 N FL got the short end of a stick... and conversely, it feels like I for once got the better one by living in Poland. We have official pricing for a month at this point, together with full equipment list; plus, we get to choose between N Light Seats and the normal N Seats, and have the strut bar as standard for the Performance version. The only thing we can't have is the sunroof, not even as an option.

If I was a customer in Australia, I'd probably be angry as &!*#... I don't even understand how dealers can order a car for you without knowing the actual price. It's almost like Ford Poland that was happy to sell me a Focus ST without having a single demo car in the entire country...

If I read this right... In Australia, If I wanted the DCT with N Light Seats and rain sensing wipers etc. I can only get this opion if I buy it with a sunroof??

Correct. Quite a few people buying the manual are annoyed they can't get the sunroof, and some buying the DCT with N Light seats are annoyed they have to cop the extra cost and weight of the sunroof.

It's a pretty odd decision to bundle them that way. We're a relatively small market, though, so I guess Hyundai can't afford too many combinations for us. Note that none of this information has been widely made public. You have to nag a dealer to check a confidential dealer bulletin for it.

All in all, the handling of the launch of this car in Australia has absolutely sucked. There's been hype for years for the DCT option, but the lack of any info since the unveiling is frustrating the hell out of interested customers.

Even I'm starting to lose interest due to the perpetual doubt and uncertainty, and I've been nuts about the car since the original RN30 concept.

I'm in the same boat here in Australia. I've been holding off buying a car and waiting for this updated i30N. It's my preferred choice over it's rivals. I too am getting fed up with not getting any confirmation from Hyundai Australia about when and how much. First they said March 2021. Now it's God-knows-when. I've been catching public transport all this year (not wanting to buy a car that I don't really want) and have decided to give Hyundai until the end of June. If they haven't come up with the goods by then they'll lose a customer (not like they'll care though).

Another Aussie frustrated and waiting for pricing on a preordered I30N. I haven’t even bothered contacting my dealer for an update as judging by the collective experience it’s not worth wasting my time.
I very much hope the actual car makes up for the poor preordering experience. It’s the enthusiasts like us that they should be rolling out the red carpet for as we are the ones who will tell others via word of mouth and are effectively the best advertising and marketing they can get.
My GR Yaris is sold pending pickup so I‘ll soon be waiting in limbo driving the wife’s car with no firm date or price yet. Oh the fun of being an early adopter...!

The big question is why aren't some bigger review channels putting out videos of the new i30N, and some of them had the car a few months back. Also a lot of i20N videos are already out there. I am really confused.

It is very strange. Major publications such as Top Gear and Auto Motor und Sport had the car earlier in the year, and they only put out very brief articles and a snippet of video.

Since then, we've only had a bizarre collection of "blindfold challenge" videos (where we got to be thrilled by WRC professionals driving the car at 5km/h), and a couple of vlogs from German YouTubers.

Where is all the marketing and promotion for this car? Why only a few drips and drabs of content, and not unified media impressions like with the i20 N?

It almost feels like Hyundai doesn't really care about this car.

Probably because there still is some kind of media embargo about the car. I would say that we will see a lot of new reviews in the upcoming weeks.

That would mean that it's impossible to get a DCT without a sunroof in the UK as well, since effectively these would be the same cars... which I can't check, as the UK Hyundai website still shows the pre-lift and has no mention of the facelift. I can definitely see a pattern!

Anyways, even if Australia and UK combined are a small market, I can't see how having the option to have a sunroof or not is bothersome to Hyundai to manage, unless the body is different between a manual and a DCT. The shipment is all the same for any amount of variations.

It's all weird, really, and it doesn't end there. I still don't get how the FL DCT can be made without an active cruise control system. Same goes for rear vents. If not for the fact that I can't test drive a Focus ST, I'd probably go with it instead of the N at this point, as active cruise control is a *big* improvement.

Feel the same. I was so much looking forward to getting this car, now, not going to bother anymore, seriously considering canceling my order next week. Basic safety and comfort items not included, no pricing or spec's. I would rather drive a lower powered Golf GTI at least you get the comfort, tech and performance.
